I feel like I need to make an anatomy chart for Odysseus and how much it’s changed through-our the fics, cuz it’s definitely not the same anymore
Idk if people ever noticed that I draw Odysseus curvy despite being a cis man. Well, fellow view who has no idea what I’m talking about, I have an explanation.
Odysseus actually started out pretty square, even in his younger years, the typical male body build. He gained muscle just from being a king alone but he only started “thickening” up around the one he had to go to war—he was pretty muscular, with body fat to even it out, but still had the “square” look.
My Odysseus is 4’10 (147 cm), so his proportions are a little different. He carries weight differently. Instead of looking musclar he looks more like a tree trunk. But it’s okay, we like tree trunk men.
During the entire EPIC sequence he’s losing weight and muscle overtime, especially during the 7 years with Calypso. The only reason his body was still healthy was because of the food Calypso constantly fed him and guilt tripped him into eating, same thing with giving him water.
When Odysseus had arrived home, Penelope had spoiled him with food. Upon that, the king decided to train with his son. So he was already fattening up while still maintaining muscle. Our tree trunk man is back!
Penelope’s death ended up having him lose a lot of weight because of his depression and gained some back when he began his relationship with Poseidon.
Now why did I explain all of this? Why do I keep talking about how he keeps losing weight and gaining it back?
…spoilers
