detroit’s winter weather was a real bitch. leo should have known better than to leave the house with a thin ass jacket in 30 degree weather.—-but in his defense, he had been distracted. carl was dead.
leo, more than anyone, knew how shit of a son he’d been. he didn’t really feel like he could ever properly grieve for the old man, considering how much crap he’d put him through. his chest ached, of course, and his eyes stung from holding back tears that he didn’t dare shed… but he felt more numb than anything— and as always he was left wanting MORE.—more time. more chances.
in the end… it was what it was. both his parents were gone and he was left alone… —it was kinda what he’d wanted all along when he was younger, wasn’t it? —what he’d thought he’d wanted anyway. looking back now, there were a lot of things he would have done differently. and there were even more that would be forever unsaid.
shivering against the crisp morning breeze, the begins of a fever started to set in. he wasn’t sure exactly how long he’d been standing before his father’s tombstone… but considering his state it had been more than a few hours. it wasn’t until he heard the crunch of snow behind him, that he pulled himself from his pity party and focused on his surroundings.
turning to the approaching figure, leo stared in confusion, brow furrowing at the unexpected visit. ❝ you’re kamaski’s aren’t you? ❞ he remembered the blonde droid from the few times he’d been around when the former ceo had visited his father. ❝ what are you doing here? ❞
