Ingredients: 1 box chocolate cake mix. 1 cup cherry pie filling. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 package chocolate candy coating. Cherry-flavored candy melts for decoration optional. Cake pop sticks.
Instructions: Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions. Fold in cherry pie filling and chocolate chips into the cake batter. Pour the batter into a greased and lined baking pan, and bake as directed. Once the cake is cooled, crumble it into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl. Add melted butter to the cake crumbs and mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into cake balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. Melt chocolate candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions. Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into the melted chocolate and insert it into a cake ball. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate coating, ensuring it's fully covered. Allow excess coating to drip off, and place them back on the lined baking sheet. If desired, melt cherry-flavored candy melts and drizzle over the cake pops for decoration. Allow the cake pops to set completely before serving.
