Pure Starberry is relieved neither of her children have blueberry dough (can we talk about her fixation on this? I wanna talk about her fixation on this) though, they also barely resemble her papa, so it makes her wonder of her genes even tried.

She names the twins after their flavors. Chocolatine (Pain au chocolat — chocolate stuffed croissant) and Caramilk (a caramel filled milk chocolate bar).

Chocolatine, her darling daughter, is JUST like her. Mischievous, and endlessly curious. Chocolatine wants to know everything about everything. She has SOME magic (though she's nowhere near as advanced as her mother or her grandpa or grandfather).

She is the Belle to her provincial republic. She wants to explore and adventure and learn, but her mother wants her to stay at home where she is safe and no one can try to take her.

Chocolatine is interested in the sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) but, she also secretly loves Uranography (the mapping of stars/celestial objects).

Caramilk, her clever son, reminds her so much of her brother. He is quieter, observant, but he is also wickedly clever.

Caramilk is constantly building contraptions and machinations in an attempt to invent something new and innovative (but they're usually more complex and over complicate whatever task is meant to be accomplished). No one ever discourages him because he is GENUINELY very smart in making all these things and making them work (and who could be mean to that face!!)

Caramilk is interested in physics and (strangely enough) zoology. It's not uncommon for Caramilk to carry home some poor creature and beg his mom to let him keep it (not usually startling as the Raisin Deadlands don't have toooo may dangerous animals...but he did bring hime a gunny croc once and HOW he got it home was the bigger concern).

He is also interested in astronomy, like his sister, but he tends to simply enjoy stargazing, rather than map out their movements.

I've decided on a name for the girl, but I'm between a few different names for the boy

for your Lost Dolls AU, or any AU involving them actually--I know Pure Starberry is courted by Prince Choco Caramel Drizzle, but does Starlight Vanilla ever court someone, or does he prefer not doing all that? (I know you mentioned at some point something like both the twins held affections toward the prince... I imagine that, once theyre older, Choco Caramel is very smooth and charismatic toward the two when one on one, but when they're tag teaming... he holds very little chance)

Ohhhhh buddy!!! I wrote a scenario once for

the scrapped time skip timeline of Lost Dolls

where, to gain more information about Pure Starberry and Truthless Recluse, The Fount orders Starlight Vanilla "through any means necessary" to pull that information from Choco Caramel.

In the scrapped time skip version of Lost Dolls, Starlight Vanilla learns from Black Sapphire that if he's charming enough and uses his body right anyone will tell/give him anything he wants. Which works for their benefit as spies for The Fount (they are never called spies, but that's what they are).

So, when he's told "through any means necessary" I'm sure you can imagine what he tries to do to Choco Caramel (and, yeah, the fic was originally gonna be wayyyyy darker with a lot more unforgivable/irredeemable actions). And poor Choco Caramel, devoted to Pure Starberry, but unable to resist his childhood crush on her twin brother is absolute molten chocolate in the other boy's grip.

As for the ACTUAL timeline of Lost Dolls:

I've hinted at it a few times in the story thus far, but Starlight Vanilla is disgusted by the romantic affection he sees his father and papa show each other. Coupled with him being smothered by Sugar Glaze Berry, Starlight Vanilla is NOT interested in other cookies.

But, because he is so young, everyone is just assuming he's being, ya know, a kid.

(I think I've also mentioned/implied it here and in authors notes on ao3, but Starlight Vanilla is genuinely traumatized by Sugar Glaze Berry. Truthless Recluse wasn't exaggerating when he thought what The Fount was telling him sounded like assault on their son. Starlight doesn't care for romance, and he's terrified of cookies he doesn't know getting in his personal space)

In a perfect world where people would be interested in seeing a sequel to Lost Dolls and I came up with an idea that felt fitting for a sequel, I'd introduce the Dough Trio (now hold on, this has a point!) as a trio of kids taken in by the Faerie Kingdom.

But instead of being a creation of Dark Enchantress, they'd be "failed" experiments (of Butter Roll? And maaaaybe some of the other CoD???)

Anyways, Pom Pom would be a little younger than the twins and she also doesn't like being touched (my baby has chronic pain, fight me on this).

And due to their respective kingdom's closeness, Starlight and Pom Pom see a lot of each other. They bond over a shared love of gardening (Pom Pom can't keep even a cactus alive for the life of her, but damn it, she's gonna try!!) and a dislike of people.

Everyone assumes they're in a relationship.

They try to go on a date ONCE (just to get EVERYONE off their backs), but it's hella awkward for them both ("Do we HAVE to hold hands?" "Do NOT even try." "Oh, thank crumbs."). They've kissed once but immediately decided, nope, gross, they're just better being friends.

But they're absolutely each other's person.

To the point where, when people see one without the other, they ask if they're having a fight ("No? Star's got some stupid magic thingy he's gotta do so his brain doesn't explode or whatever.") ("No?? Father has to heal my dough since I over-exerted my magic last week and rot was starting to show up in my palms.")
