reporting live from choir rehearsals, where we are singing mozart’s delightful canon for six voices titled “lick me in the arse”. yes, that one. we are singing it. yes, we will have a concert. with that.

(un)surprisingly, knowing mozart, it’s kind of difficult. the melody is mostly simple, but the note length halves in every new phrase. it starts with whole notes and ends with eighths. this means the whole thing is super prone to accidentally being sped up to hellish tempi. also “lass uns froh und fröhlich, froh sein!” is NOT cool to sing on eighth notes.

obviously, the legendary title phrase was written for whole notes, though. you get to sing those words extra long and seriously.

Tenor: maybe it’s referring to Jesus or something

For context: it was written like sea-son with a dash because of the syllables on different notes

Can we PLEASE normalize singing and dancing in public. I just don’t understand why this isn’t more of a thing. Like,,, even when there’s music playing at a place, I start singing along or dancing a little bit and I get all these weird looks. Like sorry Susan but some people have adhd and are also very passionate about life and love, maybe if you mind your business and go listen to some ABBA you’ll feel better.

so i have to learn a solo for choir by tomorrow (i’m practicing it after school with the choir director and he wants us to know it) and i haven’t touched it once until just now (bc i’m stupid💕). i’ve managed to learn it more or less, but i’d like to keep practicing even while i’m in the shower. so what do i do?

i make a copy of the song. i tape it to the shower door.

We were singing a song where you were supposed to accentuate the d in yonder and my choir straight up said:

“give me more d”

she had no idea.

Now imagine this 60 something woman wondering why 50 14 year olds were laughing so hard they were crying.
