The Difficult Conversations
I simply didn’t realize how much hurt I kept to myself! Until I didn’t. The words seem to fall out of my mouth….when they do. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still guarded. Mother’s Day was one of those times when I couldn’t even keep my pain from myself let alone the object of my anger. Nope, not sharing who I was mad at because ultimately it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I was honest. Brutally…

"Ein Semikolon repräsentiert einen Satz, den der Autor beenden könnte, aber sich dazu entschieden hat, es nicht zu tun. Dieser Autor bist du - und der Satz ist dein Leben."
Why did we take so long to learn? Why should we always pay the highest price? Why should human beings always look for the most difficult option when the path can be easier? #pleaseɢᴇᴛᴠᴀᴄᴄɪɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ #oneway #choosetolive (en USA) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRsNYzZBkC3/?utm_medium=tumblr
Cursorial lives...
A hamster on a wheel delights in its experience unquestionably. With each movement, it convinces itself of an attainable goal without quite understanding how vain its actions are. As humans, this almost resembles our everyday moments even more so during our most desperate times.
Our minds run wildly convincing ourselves that moving is progress. Yes! to some extent, that statement is factual. However, this constant motion of ideas, or conceptions or just mind rumblings in most cases often cripples our innocence. Like a train, we chug along in our day to day lives hauling heavy loads of thought and running on fumes while still holding on to hope that reaching our goals will miraculously heal us from our burdened journeys. Eventually, we end up losing our identities in order to justify a societal view of what growth ought to look like at certain stages of life.
Yes! we are all allowed growth. Yes! we are all allowed movement. However, our journeys ought to produce lessons that far exceed developing resiliency towards life’s tough moments. In my experience, such actions often lead to hardened and skeptical hearts which then lead to hardened and skeptical lives. Instead, I would encourage us to strive towards attainable goals that breathe LIFE in us. Those that force us to be true to ourselves and LIVE LIFE in the present as opposed to ‘hamstering' our way through it unquestionably in pursuit of an imaginary, miraculous, life giving goal.
Go and LIVE. Don’t just function!

Shock. Pain. Denial. Shock.
Thank goodness for shock.
That moment when I knew my baby girl was gone. I have no words to describe ‘it’. ‘It?’ What is ‘it’? I’ll try to explain.
It’s the most gut-wrenching, horrifying, night terror you can possibly imagine, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t wake up. Even that falls short of this life-shattering moment.

Why?!
I had a dream last night. I was with a group of people some of which were young teenage girls. We were at a summer type retreat in Springville, Utah, by the Virgin River. There was one girl in particular that suffered with PTSD due to a near-drowning experience. We talked a lot. We were close.
A terrible storm brought near flash flood levels of water in the river. I stood by the banks with…
