Can someone, please, explain how kids are called Chef on shows like Chopped Junior, but the people that I just watched cook Michelin star plates of food on MasterChef Canada are called home cooks? Those kids are amazing and do great things with food, but they have not earned the title of Chef. They haven't had the time or experience to do so. What are we teaching kids if we just award them the highest honors without having them put the time and work into deserving those honors. Chefs work hard and long to achieve that title. They work for years, relentlessly, honing their skills. Let's teach our kids what's right. Let's teach them how to succeed and let them earn the pride and feeling of accomplishment that perseverance and a good work ethic gives a person. And let's not disrespect the true chefs anymore. These kid are great home cooks, and I bet a lot of them will, someday, be great chefs. I wish them the best!!😊😍
