Week of Metazoa: day 1.

PTSD Future Merlin gets turned back in time, but like, during a druid summon of Emrys. Aka, the most powerful version of him.

Arthur and normal Merlin are witness to the summoning ritual, just that Arthur thinks Emrys is some kind of encantation spell, so he's really confused to see Merlin again, just with weird clothes and a better suiting hair style.

Is he supposed to infiltrate Camelot? Is he supposed to be a spy? Wouldn't be the first time.

Arthur and his knights manage to overwhelm the guy and now PTSD Merlin has to either convince them he's from the future (which would be hard to explain because of his clothes) or pretend to be an enemy.

Instead, he convinces Arthur that the spell went wrong and he's kinda just a second Merlin with less shits to give. He spends some time in the dungeons until regular Merlin convinces Arthur to trust him.

PTSD Merlin is, as Arthur learns, not just more tired, he's also more competent (in almost everything), less afraid of stuff. He's emotionally avalable and Arthur has a problem because having two Merlins kinda reminds him of a dream he just had...
