Still Spark New Years News
What a great way to start the new year!
Still Spark entered the GrooveZoo Band Competition late last year with hopes of performing live on New Years Eve in front of a quarter million people. Our fans quickly voted us up to fifth place in the popular vote, an amazing feat in itself. While the top three were automatically moved into the semifinals, the judges hand picked three others from the group to remain in the competition as well, and we were one of them! This was a proud moment for us, as we had put so much time and work into creating this record and garnered so much creative support along the way. This was truly our first kudos from the world outside our own creative bubble. Unfortunately for us, a band called The Bolts claimed the grand prize.
Well, yesterday, on New Years Day, Still Spark just found out we were the runner up in the Groove Zoo contest. Pretty awesome news for New Years Day! We won a matched pair of Mojave Audio MA-100SPs, a GREAT small diaphragm condenser microphone. Thank you to everyone who helped us get noticed by the judges with your vote!
But the real prize is the recognition of our creative efforts. We're very excited about this project and cannot wait to put out our freshman release produced by Kay Hanley and Chris Zerby, which is fully recorded and in the process of being mixed by Michael Eisenstein.
