Honestly I feel like kids’ shows are getting dumber and dumber? The stuff I watched when I was a kid (pretty much all of the DC cartoons like Teen Titans and Justice League and Batman The Animated Series) seemed way more believable than the stuff now

Like, yes? That’s exactly how I feel! The first time I looked at a kid’s show that they’re airing now - and even a few years ago - I was just appalled. Because, see, I remember Teen Titans. I remember Ben 10. I remember Totally Spies and Kim Possible. I remember Danny Phantom. These are the shows I grew up on, the ones that I occasionally tuned in to watch.

And I drifted away from watching television for a while. I picked up The Last Airbender when I was in my teens and loved the show. But later, once I actually looked at the shows airing now, I was just so taken aback because the animation? The animation is extremely shoddy compared to what I used to watch back when I was a kid. I’m sensitive to nice animation and nice looking characters, so I can’t watch most of the shows on television now because the artwork is just not...good.

And then the PLOTS. God, the freaking plots. No.

I have no idea what this trend is now, with people thinking that kids are dumb and need to watch dumb shows. I miss the shows that aired when I was a kid, and it’s not because of nostalgia. These shows are still good when you watch them as an adult. And when you watch a kid’s show as an adult and realize it’s still good? That is the mark of a great show. Take The Powerpuff Girls, which isn’t something I can watch now, but it was a great show when I was a kid, and it dealt with some pretty dark subject matter, too.

I honestly would if I wasn’t scared that a) it’d be hard and dry by the time you get it, and b) that you’d end up paying a ridiculous amount of customs/custom fees. :(
