(Editorial obituary published in THE BOSTON GLOBE on October 2, 2001)
“Chris had a special way about him, serious and determined, with a sense of mischief there in the twinkle of his eyes. He drew people to him; they wanted to be near him; to be like him. Yes, he was an incredibly successful man for his young age. However, his life was so much more than that. He was an honest, spirited, loyal and devoted person. He never let his family or friends down, and he meant so much to more people than he will ever know. He is so deeply missed by his family and friends, but the memories of happier times is there to help us all. I'm his "big sister," but now he's my guardian angel. Chris, I'll miss our wrapping paper war this Christmas. We love you!”
~Marianne Merritt, Chris’s sister.
