Risks and challenges

My biggest hurdle to overcome in this project is artwork. I’m far from a high-class artist, and it takes me a long time to make each picture look the way I want to. My goal is to make each picture for Baby’s First Mythical Animals be simple and uncomplicated, yet brightly colored and eye-catching for very young readers. The photos posted on this Kickstarter are not finished products but rough drafts, and they have a lot of work to go before they look the way I want them to. If the project is successful enough to also print A-Z Mythical Creatures, I plan to draw and paint the pictures for that book in colored pencil and acrylic paint to give that book a very different, less cartoon-like baby-ish feel.

I hope to be finished with the artwork by July, which will give my printer plenty of time to print the books and the books to be shipped.

Linda Christianson

Linda Christianson is a ceramic artist based in Lindstrom, Minnesota.  

She studied at Hamline University, and the Banff Centre School of Fine Arts and has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is in numerous public and private collections, including the American Museum of Ceramic Art and the Glenboe Museum.
