random thoughts about rolf. rolf comes from a culture that seems to value hard work and discipline above all else. while that in and of itself is not a bad thing, there's little things that seem to imply that a lot of rolf's culture surrounding work is very guilt based. giving a kid responsibility is a good way to teach them about life, but what happens when you give a kid too much responsibility and make them feel guilty about it if they don't do a backbreaking amount of labor every day? i think this ties into rolf's trauma surrounding the wolf man, as the attack happened when he was a child tasked with guarding the sheep. due to this, i think he might be attached to his work as a sort of coping mechanism, a way to feel control after the attack? when he gets triggered and has a paranoia episode in no speak da ed, he dresses in the exect same outfit he had as a kid when he was attacked, which might point to some sort of like. regression thing or trying to reenact the situation to gain control. i think he's taken on so much responsibility in his mind that he feels guilty trying to rest sometimes. oh and in the episodes boom boom out goes the ed and will work for ed, where rolf takes on helpers in work situations, rolf still does the lion's share of the work itself and gets especially snappy at his helpers. maybe rolf feels guilty about needing some help sometimes and he wants to make sure that he's the one in control, that he has to fix everything? idk man i just have a lot of thoughts about rolf

random ass niche thing, but does anyone else have a headcanon name for rolf's old country? mine is verabach ("vera" is russian for "faith" and "bach" is a german last name denoting someone who lives by a stream. i do have a headcanon that in verabachian "verabach" is something like "blue stream" or "blue people" however lol) just wondering!

ugh stupid eene folk horror au is brewing inside my mind. rolf since you are my favorite i have to torture you i'm so sorry

anyway this au would be about rolf finding strange stuff buried on his farm and strange symbols start appearing in his shed. the idea i had was like maybe the wolf-headed man from rolf's childhood comes back (maybe some sort of eldritch creature taking on it's appearance) and wants to take rolf for reasons unknown lol. (wait i have an idea. maybe he wants rolf to be a vessel, an "eternal worker", a machine. idk an idea) maybe it's a cult idk. rolf refuses to tell anybody about since he feels that it's his responsibility to deal with but over one insane, bloody night, the whole neighborhood finds out they have to band together to defend rolf and maybe defeat the wolf-man once and for all

this story idea would not leave my head so. i wrote a hypothetical scene from it. i wrote it at like 10:30 pm so it's probably not that good. excuse my tired sick cringe ass
