Chapter nineteen, part six
On saturday Deborah and Aidan decorated their livingroom. Christina and Zacheriah would pick up the cakes. It was a special get together with both their families. Aidan was eager to find out it would be a boy. He prefered decorating the whole room blue but Deborah convinced him it might not be a boy or that Christina would have a boy. So he agreed to use pink balloons too in the end. He liked talking to a her father. While Deborah talked to Anna. She was a bit more positive about how things went at home. Hadassa had showed to be of use. Elisabeth was almost done with her tests so she would be able to help more soon. Deborah was happy for her eldest sister. She needed some relieve from the burden that was resting on her sholders.
Aidan was very glad when they finaly cut into the cakes. First it was Christina and Zacheriah who cut into theirs. The filling was pink so they would get a girl. Christina was very happy to see pink in her cake. The men tried to console Zacheriah. They said he might have a son next time. But Zacheriah didn't really seem to mind not having a son.
Then it was time for Deborah and Aidan to cut into their cake. She let the honors to Aidan. He cared the most about the gender. Aidan was thrilled to see the blue filling of their cake. He put the piece of cake down as fast as he could and jumped into the air. Deborah looked at her husband and wondered if she really knew him. From all sides came congrats for Aidan while nobody said anything to her about not having a girl. Nobody knew she wanted a girl.
