christmas baking

note: i just love the idea of scott baking, can you tell??

during your weekly grocery shop, you saw some cute, pre-made christmas treats in the bakery section, and you immediately decided you and scott needed to recreate them. as you kept shopping, you grabbed eggs, flour, sugar, cocoa powder, sprinkles, the works; everything you needed to make some christmas treats.

as soon as you got home, you put the other groceries away and started to find some recipes for christmas cookies and brownies and grabbed the gingerbread people to decorate.

by the time scott got home, there was flour and baking trays all over the kitchen table, bowls filled with different ingredients and all the baking decorations had their own corner on the counter.

he hung up his coat and pulled off his shoes before sneaking up behind you and wrapping his arms around your body. “having fun?” he whispered into your ear, leaving a soft kiss on your ear lobe.

“the most fun,” you replied, twisting your head to give him a quick kiss. “i’ve weighed out the majority of stuff so we can bake together.”

“oh, really?” he smirked, his hands running up and down your sides before he tickled you lightly. “well, lucky me getting home on time, then.”

“hmm, lucky me, too.” you smiled as scott pulled away from you, washing his hands before coming back to your side.

“what’s first?”

“let’s do cookies,” you decided, pointing over to the bowls of ingredients you’d put to the left side of the table. “then while they’re baking, we can do brownies.”

“and who’s gonna eat all of these?” scott teased while pulling across the bowls.

“we can each take some into work, but i really wanted brownies.”

“well, then,” scott turned to you, leaning down the press his forehead against yours and kissed you sweetly. “let’s make you some brownies.”

I may have been soaking dried cranberries in spiced rum for no less than twelve moons in order to bake The Fruitcake of Unparalleled Arcane Potency, and will need to keep this away from an open flame lest I Vermillion Scourge mine eyebrows off. (Not pictured: dried dates, cherries, and mangoes soaking in Brandewine spiced cognac)
