Yes, the Build a Bear obsession is still obsessioning, and today I have a number of Steves to share with you 😄 🐻
First up, Upside Down Steve. I can still remember my joy when I realised I could swap out Eddie and Steve's clothes and make a shirtless, barefoot (bearfoot? *groan*) Steve 'fit. I can't find grey trousers anywhere, so tattered light wash denim will have to do. I even found a little torch in my charms stash, so behold, UD Steve 🫲🫱
Next, Preppy Steve. We all remember him from S1, and even if he was a little bit of a d!ck he still had his own style.
Finally (for the time being, did you spot the 'pt 1' up there? 😜), Christmas Steve. I couldn't resist the ST sweater when I saw it last year, and I thoroughly enjoyed pairing it with Steve's preppy polo and his chinos to recreate this stylistically-iconic moment.
BTS and detail shots below the cut!
Professional secrets revealed: Preppy Steve's outfit was way too loose, so I got creative. How do they make too-big garments fit models mid-photoshoot? Like this, of course! (This is absolutely true - don't believe what the pictures tell you kids, you're all beautiful 😘🥰)
Some detail shots for those that love them. Steve from the rear (puffy tail and all), a closeup of his tiny torch ☺️, and a closer look at the detail on that Demogorgon sweater (I particularly like the fairy lights and the tiny bear silhouettes near the bottom row). And yes, I am a 'Eddie would love Led Zeppelin' truther 😅
I really hope you enjoy these. Let me know if you have any guesses as to what 'fits might be in pt 2, and who you want to see next! 😃

The story of my family's weirdest tradition, Christmas Steve.
Every year a week before Christmas, we pull christmas Steve out of the closet and hang him up in a prominent place in our house.
Steve came into existence when my sister was in art class in college about 15 years ago. Steve was one of her classmates. We have tried to find him over the years, but we don't know his last name.
The year he was drawn, we didn't get a christmas tree. So, my mother placed the presents under Steve's portrait instead. We started calling him "christmas steve" (like... christmas tree. But steve.)
The only reason the tradition has continued as long as it has, is because my mother holds such distain for him. She hates him. Has tried to throw him out many many times over the years. But it wouldn't be christmas without him.
Christmas Adam is tomorrow, but I started celebrating today :P
It's very unlike me to make one of these without olives, but I had a lot of fruit from the fruitcake I made that I needed to use up, and I thought this would be a great way to do that.
I also committed a cardinal cheeseboard sin and used 2 cheeses with roughly the same texture, both bloomy rind (though at different stages of ripeness). Call me a textural simpleton if you like, I love bloomy rind :P
But Starch, you may be asking, why haven't you posted your fruitcake?
Ehehehe... I may have forgotten to take a picture before wrapping it up. Hopefully I'll take pictures before it is consumed, at least, on Christmas proper.
I now remember why I usually take the day off before Christmas Eve.
This year, there was extra fun making sure all the time-cards I’m responsible for approving went through, as no one wants an issue with their paycheck this of all pay periods.
