It'll be an "Abalone Coastal Christmas" at Sea Ranch Abalone Bay- with a touch of tradition too! ⁠ ⁠ We are enjoying a couple of weeks ahead of the holidays decking the hall of our home. Then we'll be heading to Southern California to enjoy family time there. ⁠ ⁠ Have to admit I'm taking great pleasure in enjoying an early Christmas at Abalone Bay as we work to configure the holiday decor and design for our first Christmas post-renovation and remodel. It's still a project in the making. The hardest part of it all has been finding decor goodies that's representative of a Sonoma County Coastal Christmas. There's plenty that represent Southern California, the Caribbean, and Florida regions. But not much that reflect the rugged drama that is a Sea Ranch Christmas. And so the hunt continues... and how I love the hunt!⁠ ⁠ Last year, before all our furniture arrived, we had the tree sitting in the corner next to our western facing window. But now that all the furniture has arrived, we are re-thinking that idea. While the tree by window framed the setting winter's sun nicely, it would be a bit cramped now. So it's time to rethink that plan.⁠ ⁠ The great news about the change in plans is Jorge now has a new project- to build a cantilevered platform over the staircase to set the tree upon. Good to have a civil engineer in the family! This will allow for more space between the dining area and the tree, a Stratford Spruce set in a woven tree collar by @BalsamHill⁠ ⁠ Here's a sneak peak at what we have set up so far for our Christmas guests.
