This artwork is part of a set of 9 paintings about the same topic. TOPIC : The grimace is a snub to normality. Normality is sometimes a kind of 'fascistic' concept. It is a set of arbitrary rules defined by a specific group which solely gets benefit from these rules. Whoever comes out is out of the ordinary, abnormal. Normality is the incubator of discrimination. It kills diversity and the potential wealth that flows from it. The grimace disturbs and scares. Because it is out of the ordinary. It is absolute. Like nature. Not subject to a system of artificial rules. There is no normal or abnormal grimace. There is THE grimace. The grimace makes you laugh too. It does not take itself seriously. It is an act of humility. I am doing a grimace, I do not claim my superiority, I do not judge. I simply express myself, I just claim my humanity.

Sci-fi controversy! An original one sheet movie poster from 1991 for Russell Mulcahy's sword-fighting immortals sequel "Highlander 2: The Quickening", based on a story by Brian Clemens and William N. Panzer. The second film of the Highlander franchise was a controversial sequel, contradicting many of the ideas introduced in the first movie. In 1995 a 'Renegade' version of the film was released that corrected many of these anomalies. Fans of the franchise will love the return of Connery's 'Ramirez', but the purists will argue that "Highlander III" is the true sequel to the original. One for the fans to argue over!
