🚻 + rheya pls I’m curious about her dad trying to shed her to hell
more commonly known as Charon, the ferryman of the underworld.
without getting too heavy on the lore in Lethe, his job is to bring the Underworld nymphs back to the underworld. He's pretty good at his job, mostly. he got like one of them. Lethe, and Acheron are tricky.
but he basically gives it all up when he meets Christopher Laney in the 80s. He has forever to catch the nymphs anyway, doesn't he?
anyway they adopt three kids, get married, he becomes a history teacher at Devenford Prep and their lacrosse coach.
but as a dad he's actually a pretty okay guy. he's the stricter parent so he's generally not the favourite, but he loves his kids. He goes out of his way to go to every single one of Rheya's swim meets, or Mac's gymnastics competitions, and he's always the most excited parent there.
Things were honestly kind of great for their family up until it became apparent that Rheya was a nymph, and not just any nymph either. she was Lethe, oblivion. She was dangerous.
but then her other dad, Christopher Laney, wonderful man
everything you ever need to know about him can be explained with the fact that he's the drama teacher at beacon hills high.
he's such a good dad though.
when Theo went to hell he spent a whole day hanging out with Rheya in her room, watching Gilmore Girls, eating junk food, and attempting desperately to relate to the situation
he's the parent they go to for relationship advice and whatnot
and he's willing to throw his entire marriage away to protect his kids.
but really Rheya's relationship with her parents was fine up until around 6B when her dad legit tries to send her to hell
