3/25/15 A large version of Wet Ink Ensemble performed new and recent works for chamber orchestra by Columbia graduate composers at the Dimenna Concert Hall in Hell’s Kitchen. Interestingly all of the works used software processing (Max MSP) and surround sound in addition to the acoustic instruments. The works included “Convergence Lines” by Christopher Trapani, which had particulary effective multi channel effects worked into the composition; the solo piano piece “Metal Works – Part 1″ by Nina C. Young, which was performed by Kathleen Supove; Stylianos Dimou‘s “spasmodic frictions: "Aria Impulsiva", V.2″ for eight instruments and electronics; the showstopping “K. tracing” by Ryan Pratt; Sky Macklay’s White/Waves and “Diptych: Irène’s lament-Auguste’s grief” by Ashkan Behzadi, which was accompanied by film.
