When too much time goes by without finding a suspect in her daughter’s rape and murder, a mother questions local police, in a big way. Searing, #FrancesMcDormand - sizzling (definitely thought it was an Oscar-worthy performance) watching a movie with her in it - oohhmmyyy, but I mean, everyone turned in excellent performances, #WoodyHarrelson, #CalebLandryJones #SamRockwell (#OscarforSam) #LucasHedges (this and Lady Bird? 2017 for this kid…whoa) #ZeljkoIvanek #PeterDinklage #KathrynNewton #CharleneHawkes #ClarkePeters. Seeing how something like this can affect not only a community (through the stories on the local news) to how it affects the individuals closely linked to the case (from Angela’s mother, father and brother to Willoughby and Dixon at the police department) was a gut punch. So many toe-to-toes, that come so close to blows, and a few that do; and that second “event” about half way through that further spurs the action. That dentist visit - 😮ayyiyi, that awkward dinner date, I hope that after the events of the movie they were able to get on the same page.
