there’s a love triangle

some idiot dies falling down some stairs and yet still looks flawless afterwards

there’s a family owned corporation that’s fucking rich as shit and we never see any active business shit from them and led by a scary af matriarch

we got the dirt fucking poor ppl subplot right along the rich folk

Amnesia subplot WHICH ULTIMATELY IS RESOLVED WITH LOOOOVE (usually it’s prayer buuuuuut love, it’s love)

there’s some war that is sorta important to the characters but not really in the grand scheme of things and like, we only focus on maybe three characters max cuz this ain’t a fucking saving private ryan shit

THE BIG FAMILY SECRET THAT IS SO SCANDALOUS AND THERE’S ALSO A SECRET SIBLING AND ESTRANGED FAMILY MEMBER AND SOOOOOOOO MANY FUCKING DADDY AND MOMMY ISSUES THAT DO  NOT GET RESOLVED TILL THE FUCKING END

I think it’s fair to say that it’s def a novela and a fucking good one at that. The only thing it missing is zarc and ray bitching and then angrily making out / fucking in an office

15. A kiss passionately

Yuya didn’t expect Yuzu to be so passionate after he proposed to her. Yet as soon as they returned to their apartment she hasn’t separated herself once from the entertainment duelist.

The Pendulum Pioneer was so distracted with the hands and lips across his skin that he didn’t notice that his jacket and shirt have come off.

“Yu-yuzu,” Yuya breathed out . He can feel his pants tighten and his breath got shallow. 

“Hm?” Yuzu hummed out. “What do you want, Yuya?”

Yuya knows he can ask for anything for Yuzu and get it, but there will be a time for that later. Right now he just wants to appreciate both him and Yuzu have survived to this point.

“I want you. I to share your happiness and future. I love you so much, Yuzu, and I will gladly spent the rest of my life showing you that.”

Yuzu paused for a moment and Yuya wonders if he’s ruined the moment. That is until he feels Yuzu’s lips pressed against his.

The desire that was there before is nearly gone instead Yuzu was putting her heart and soul into the kiss. No need for competition, loss of clothes, or pulling of any kind. Right now, all that matters is that they made it this far.

Together.

Yuya soon felt Yuzu’s lips leave his and he opened his eyes to see a slime line of saliva to connecting them and the redden face of his now fiance.

“I love you, Yuya.” Yuzu spoke after a moment.

Yuya felt his heart pound and he wished this feeling would never fade.

“I love you, too.”

Uhhhh im not too sure on this cause im not really involved in the fandom enough to know what is and isnt popular but I guess uhhhhhh

Well this applies to a LOT of anime and stuff but I feel like Yugioh is one where it’s pretty prominent.

When the writers (or I guess just Yoshida) insert “gay” or seemingly gay ships into the show, I can promise you that it’s not to be progressive or make a statement or anything. Johan, Bruno, Soulburner, none of these characters exist to tell a story about gay characters in the setting, none of them are social commentary. Yugioh anime is basically just one gigantic commercial. It’s a product. When the writers put in fujobait into their show it’s because they know that Fujos spend a shitton of money. That’s it. And you know what? That’s fine! Not everything has to be social commentary, or be some deep compelling story. But just, don’t try to pass it off as that. And be aware that that’s what it is.
