母語ではないが、日本語オッケーです。 She/her. Old enough to remember VHS tapes. Call me Aqua! I write fic and scream about things. Yu-Gi-Ow!, Pocket Pikas, Fire Shield-Medalion-Thing, and Fullmetal Alphonse, to name a few.
Welcome to Fire Emblem Hell (Gradlon Edition) ・ FEの地獄ブログへようこそ!
Hi, there! I speak both English and Japanese so feel free to ask or DM me in either language! 英語も日本語も話すのでどちらでも話してくれても大丈夫です!少しあとで日本語のようこそメッセージを書きますのでそれを読みたいならこのポストの下に見てください。
I go by Aqua! I obsess over Nintendo JRPGs, especially Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, and Pokemon. I love anime, my longtime favorites being Fullmetal Alchemist and Shaman King.
Favorite characters include but aren't limited to: Alear (male preferred), Robin (both!), Azura, Chrom, Marth, Alfred, Ivy; Roy, Eliwood, Rex, Mythra, Pyra, Nia, Morag, Eunie, Taion, Shulk, Melia; Alphonse Elric, Edward Elric, Envy; Tao Ren, Asakura Yoh, Usui Horohoro, Lyserg Diethel, Joco McDonnel. I also have an OC named Delilah who is my daughter.
I'm also an avid fanfic writer with a ridiculous amount of WIPs as TheTacticianAlchemist on AO3.
You may have found some of my work as Mod Rose on the ages old chrobinprompts blog, and I'm also a mod for chrobinweek.
I also have done fan translation for mankin-trad for Shaman King: The Super Star and & a Garden (since taken down; go read the official versions or check out Patch Cafe to learn about the series!) and fan translation/subtitling for Shaman King 2021 with iPatch Subs (on hiatus). I'm currently a professional freelance JP->EN translator.
While I do tag NSFW, I don't consider this blog to be SFW so do be careful.
Hello! Do you want ace representation? (You said aro but same difference, right?) We have
Asexuality 101: They're the token ace in The Sex Show and they say "I've never had sex before and I don't think I want to, am I... broken?" And then they learn about asexuality. Their entire character arc revolves around not having sex in The Sex Show. Completely unrelatable if you're anything other than sex-repulsed and alloromantic.
Asexual Book: it feels like reading a wikipedia article and will stop resonating once you're over the accepting-yourself-stage and start discovering yourself beyond the standard asexual experience.
Token Ace: they're the asexual character in the current big queer cartoon and she has significantly less screentime than the other characters. Confirmed asexual on social media.
Cartoon Animal: the creator didn't wanna think about them having sex because that's a cartoon animal. You'd be surprised how much porn people draw of this character.
The Dark And Mysterious Nerd: don't get your hopes up, he's also a tumblr sexyman and nothing in the source material indicates his asexuality.
Todd Chavez.
Twink Of The Month: he currently has swarms of people going "asexuals can still have sex" but they're not really interested in exploring sexual relationships from an asexual perspective, they just don't want him to be asexual. The other half of the debate is working tirelessly to alienate sex-favorable people from the asexual community.
Ace Coded: they're the most asexual character of all time but it's not stated in the source material or confirmed by the author so you have to write a thesis in hopes that someone might consider that they could be asexual. You might get called homophobic if you do.
Alien Robot: their lack of interest in sex is directly tied to them not being human. The fanbase has a massive collective boner for them though.
Murderer: Yeah... Collective boner also applies here.
Actually Good Representation: she's from a piece of media that has a fandom smaller than the population of a small village and does not suit your taste whatsoever
Your Own Fucking OC: at this point, just do it yourself.
This is a belated piece for Philippines Independence Day (June 12), where I hit my favorite couple with a Filipino beam
So here's Marth and Caeda in traditional Philippine clothes
Marth here is donning the barong tagalog, a traditional Philippine formal attire for men.
Caeda, on the otherhand, is donning a more modern-styled version of the baro't saya variant of a filipiniana, a traditional Philippine formal attire for women.
They're supposed to be doing the Cariñosa dance, but I didn't think Caeda would wear the Maria Clara variant (That'd be Elice) which is the more commonly depicted dress for the dance
When you meet Edward Elric he gives off the impression that he's the short-tempered hot-headed "violence is the answer to all life's questions" kind of protagonist, and it's in fact incredible character craft that he's actually the character who ends the series with a negative-3 kill count.
God's worst soldier Edward Elric. Showed up as the youngest member of the Amestrian army, took millions of dollars from them, never followed a single order, helped dismantle their fascist regime, left with a lower kill count than he arrived with, then fucked off to go be a house-husband. Character of all time.
Yuma and Yuya are both incredibly acrobatic, the important difference though is that Yuya’s acrobatic moves are for the express purpose of entertaining a crowd, meanwhile Yuma just moves like that naturally. Yoko put her son in gymnastics cause he wanted to be more like his dad. Kazuma put his son at the foot of a cliff and kept shouting encouraging one liners until Yuma built up the strength to jump 5 feet straight in the air and now he does triple hangsprings just to stand up.
Pokemon cosplay shirts will be available from the Japanese Pokemon Center starting Jul18! The Ditto shirt is a bit unique in the line since its shape is meant to resemble Ditto.
This is really interesting and points to sanitation on a huge scale - also how "adaptations" aren't anything like they used to be. I miss my adaptations where something completely different comes along, though I know that's a hot topic.
What I admit I do like about early Pokemon is how rarely they went for the easy ideas first. They had to create 150 monster designs in one game, and I’m sure it could’ve been so easy to phone it in with some generic RPG-ass monster designs, but it took six generations for them to make a Pokemon based on a tree, seven generations for them to make a wolf. The grass type representation in gen 1 is palms, rafflesia flowers, pitcher plants, and cordyceps fungus
The first games introduced the concept of reanimating fossils, and the first fossils you can resurrect are horseshoe crabs, ammonites, and one (1) pteranodon. It took four generations before you could reanimate a dinosaur, and it took two more generations before you could reanimate a Tyrannosaurus rex
Gen 1 did have some generic RPG-ass monster designs (slime, snake, bat, Big Guy Made Of Rocks) but a lot of it is weird biology, visual puns, and references to Japanese folklore and pop culture. It was so much more important to make a Pokemon referencing the phrase “a duck comes bearing green onions” than a wolf, and I think that’s a load bearing pillar to the series’ ethos towards monster design
