The Blame Game
When a chronic illness shatters your life you are filled with rage, and you blame everyone for your situation. I blamed the doctors, I blamed God and I blamed myself. Much like the victim of a violent crime who blames themselves for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, I blamed myself for having a surgery that I wasn’t even sure I needed, a surgery that changed my life forever. I blamed myself for years, no more. I refuse to blame myself for my situation not now not ever. The hardest part for all of us is to realize that it is not our fault, shit just happens. I have released myself from the blame, the shame and the guilt. Not one day more.
