A little somethin’ somethin’ for my good friend @chrysalisshell of the always fabulous Laila :)
@chrysalisshell Kicking out the tarantulas is perfectly fine. But would you please inform your hoard that flying into the open doors of cars is not a good way to ensure their survival?
maria i have a very important, essential meta question that must be answered and that is what zodiac sign do you think ulysses is? my heart tells me that only a water sign could exhibit that level of Drama™ and Brooding™ but i am a pisces who is subject to bias so i am welcome to argument.
You are absolutely right and I absolutely agree, but I have a feeling that if his Sun is in a water sign then his Moon must be a fire sign, or vice versa, I really feel a bit of a fire sign in him and yes they can be quite emotional and passionate too, but you are right I think he is a water Sun!
@ anyone that wants to weigh in on “Whats Ulysse’s zodiac sign” please do WEIGH IN!
chrysalisshell replied to your post “i was thinking about it all day and i finally realized that i am a...”
i've never gotten that impression at all how do you mean?
Usually my character’s don’t take action until action is thrown at them by the narrative and often when they do they are somehow punished by it. I think this comes from the fact that I as a person rarely take things into my own hands, I deliberately strip myself from my own agency in exchange for safety and often whenever I take agency I expect to be punished for it.
Since you know my Fallout girls the most Lexi does take agency and goes to Vegas and the narrative instantly punishes her for it by having her brother killed. And then her agency is around the fact that she wants to avenge her brother and yeah she does whatever she wants and her actions are not tied to a man or anything cliche like that, but they are still fueled by what happened to her + the events of FNV.
Tracie takes agency by going to Nuka World and that backfires on her, and yeah in the end there is a good ending and it turns out it wasn’t a bad idea to take that risk but she was really punished for doing it. The other plot I have for her she pretty much has agency but it’s not really about her rather it’s about Preston so I can’t judge that one.
And Sofia also takes action to go to Vegas and the narrative also punishes her for doing that by having her sister kidnapped by the Legion and Sofia has to save her.
I feel like my characters are more tied to the plot and they go with the plot rather than driving the plot or doing changes. They kind of adapt to the situation they are in and overcome it instead of creating the situation. Except Tracie maybe who creates the Nuka World situation but she isn’t really an active participant in her agency even though she believes she is. Like their stories are not necessarily tied to men or anything, they are just very tied to the plot though this might be cause they are all video game characters. I need to examine my completely original women to see for sure.
Like I have this pattern of “Woman has agency and takes action” - “Woman is punished for it” - “Woman does something cool/heroic/brave to regain it” - “Woman has a happy ending after all” which I can’t decide if it’s a good or a bad thing but I am sure it’s because I am a person like that and honestly hit the nail in that first paragraph.
10 and Boone
Physical appearance HC
Two things on the top of Boone’s list for himself would be physically fit and cleanliness. When it comes to others, just...at least be clean. Please. Although, he knows water to wash with isn’t always easy to come by in the Commonwealth. It’s something he’s actively working on, at least in the settlements he’s helped build.
Being fit while living in the Commonwealth isn’t exactly hard. It’s a workout every single day just to survive, the added benefit is staying fit. Boone also prefers to be on the go, hates staying in one place for long, and being General of the Minutemen keeps him traveling a lot, which is perfect for burning calories. Which are not always easy to come by in the first place! Hefting guns on a regular basis -- or bashing heads in -- keeps that upper body in prime condition, too ;)
Being clean is almost obsessively important to Boone and he’ll grab a Rad-X and hit the ocean if there’s no other available source of water. He hates being dirty, whether it be from the dirt and grime of constant travel or blood and guts from defending himself or a settlement from enemies or creatures.
A spare change of clothes is always the first thing he packs and he tries to keep his clothes in decent condition but it’s damn hard with bullets, knives and claws or stingers out to tear them to shreds, so a mended-many-times-over look is his norm.
Long hair gets in his way when sighting down the scope of his sniper rifle but he can’t always be bothered to cut it. Most of the time, it’s just pulled back in a sloppy bun at the back of his head or a ponytail. His hair changes with his mood. Having to keep it military precision in the Army, he tends more toward letting it go but still neat and out of the way. Though at times, he just gets tired of it all and shaves it short.

so, who wants to know more about my Fallout...
#is this another person who thinks shaun is house's son?! #fallout 4 #robert ouse
@chrysalisshell - Nope far from it. Now, since this was brought up, let me say a few words about the FO4 universe that I have created for my OC, and her pre-war backstory. Shaun is not my Sole Survivor’s biological son. He is however Nate’s biological son, conceived during an affair with House’s daughter. Which makes House his grandfather. With Nate away during the war, and Shaun’s mother slowly dying of cancer, Zaraza found herself strangely invested in fighting for the soon to be born child, to give him a future in their family, and she ended up loving him more than she ever expected.
She only met House on a few occasions and was never on good terms with him; she despised his methods and ideology but admired his visionary motivations. House instead couldn’t care less about her behavior and poor background but he admired her brilliant mind and her skills as an engineer. He considered it a loss when she did not agree to his terms and left behind her work at RobCo.
Often I wonder what my Sole Survivor would think of House’s story if she would learn of what happened after the war. She’s not very found of talking about him but she would not keep it a secret to Shaun either. Somehow, meeting Father, spending time with him, she could see glimpses of what he had inherited from House.
To tell you the truth I think the headcanon started as a joke. But then I got so invested I couldn’t get it out of my mind.
so i was checking out your pinterest and omg tell me more about delilah!! she looks incredible!
aaahhh thank you!!!
Her real name is actually Amira, but she goes by a number of different aliases in the Commonwealth, the most prolific of which is Delilah, and yeah it’s absolutely a reference to Sampson and Delilah. Other names she’s used include Rosie, Edith, and Ava, all of which are a reference to the “face” she’s putting on at the time (Rosie the Riveter, Edith Piaf, Ava Gardner, so on and so forth).
She’s a first generation American - her mother immigrated there from Algeria as a child (I’ve never been able to find much about the state of the world outside of North America and China pre-war in the Fallout universe?? so I just assume that north Africa still... exists, rofl). She wanted to be an actress on Broadway, but ended up working as a burlesque girl instead. After meeting her husband she starts working for the Army in some civilian clerical capacity. At some point during this time she gets recruited to a branch of the Army’s counter-intelligence office (through a series of events that I have not yet decided on, lol), again in a mostly clerical capacity.
She has good intentions right after getting out of the Vault, I’m sure, but the Commonwealth really brings out her more cynical nature. She’s charismatic and an excellent liar, and in her time as a showgirl developed superb manipulation skills. She finds it’s quite easy to mold the Commonwealth to her own image with these sorts of skills, and also, that she enjoys making the entire state of Massachusetts dance to her tune. She basically turns the Minutemen into her own personal army and inserts herself into positions of power in both the Brotherhood and the Railroad.
Basically she adopts the guise of the classic noir femme fatale and runs with it. Who knew being queen of everything could be so rewarding?
