Drew a varitaion of Pegasus & Chrysaor combing @kdpartworks Poseidon & My Medusa's genes.
While they are twins I belive Pegasus is usually the elder brother🤔. He's a very heroic looking winged horse, with a gorgeous main & sea colored eyes. Considering he's half gorgon Pegasus' eyes would be very unsettling up close, as he has slit serpent puplis instead of the rectangular pupils horses normaly have. I could also see Pegasus inheriting his dad's temper so he will stomp someone to death if they so much as look at him funny. He's also a shameless flirt when a pretty mare is involved, & has fathered numerious winged foals across Greece.
Chrysaor is usually discribed as being a giant warror with a golden sword, or a winged boar with golden tusks. I've depicted him as humaniod but he is capable of transforming into a gaint winged boar as well. Chrysaor's facial features are more like his father, except for his golden serpent eyes & wings which he inherited from his mother. His scale colors are a mix of both his parents greenish blue complextions. Since Chrysaor inherited his mother's terrifying gaze most people have a difficult time looking at him directly. So he often keeps his helmet on even off the battlefield & avoides making direct eye contact when speaking to others to try & avoid scarring them unintenally. Which is a shame as he's quite handsome at least according to his wife, step-mother, & aunts. Despite his impossing apperance, I could see Chrysaor being more soft spoken & friendly off the battlefield. He even has a bit of a stutter when he's nervious & ends up elongationg s sounds.
For my OG Medusa lovers out there I present to you Medusa from the temple of Artemis in Kerkyra/Corfu one of the oldest known archaic temples!
Not gonna lie guys I felt my heart skipping a beat standing under this masterpiece that I have only seen in books! And this thing is HUGE!
Like you can see people for scale:
A gift of the tyrant family of Cypselids around the years 590-570 BC but constantly reconstructed and sustained for many years this masterpiece is a doric pseudo-dipteral temple. This masterpiece is depicting Gorgon Medusa and her two children, the winged horse Pegasus and Chrysaor that here is depicted as a young man. And the details man! The details!
I mean look at the details of her winged feet!
Medusa is depicted at her usual archaic way of 3/4 perspective with her head facing the viewer as an apotropaic mask and her body is depicted with the characteristic skip that is being used to indicate fast pace or flight. She is surrounded by lions and male forms.
I could sleep there guys! I think this apotropaic symbol would protect me! When I visited that museum to visit her was like a life experience! I was so privileged to have seen it and also to my leisure without many people around! I felt like paying my tribute to Artemis after Hera, Apollo, Poseidon and Asclepius back then in Mon Repos:

I FUCKING LOVE PROTOMECHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In art and literature, Pegasus (and by extension Chrysaor) was born from Medusa’s head fully formed, but wouldn’t it be funny if Pegasus and Chrysaor were born as babies so Perseus and Athena had to take some accountability for orphaning their monstrous cousins? Idk I just thought this would be amusing.
Also in my retelling, Perseus sneaks up on Medusa while she’s asleep and her sisters aren’t home, but he slips up and Medusa wakes up and they fought.
Medusa retelling idea…🐍🥀🪨
it’s Medusa’s life before her death and its slice of life.
that’s it.
no big conflict pre-Perseus, no UwUifing & / or victimising Snake Lady, or demonising her family.
Just little dumb moments like Medusa, Euryalê & Sthennô cracking up at each other’s crude / evil jokes / being three terrifying Disney Villain-type sisters, spending some quality time with their parents who r very proud of their horrible monstrous girls, Medusa & her Monsterfucker bf Poseidon (not Ovid’s version) being freak4freak with each other, rolling around in that meadow and ruining the soil with their graphic canoodling/j, you get the idea.
Medusa then finding out she’s pregnant and her sisters teasing her about it profusely (“*loud hiss-cackling* weren’t too careful with that Sea God lover of yours were you?~” “*growl-groan* OH SHUT IT”).
and then her death…BUT-
it’s portrayed comedicish with her sisters walking in on her corpse at the sound of her head being sliced like: “sister don’t tell us you’ve started wetting the bed alre-
*babe Pegasus + Khrysaor on the floor next to Medusa’s body like
👁️👁️ 👁️👁️*
*Perseus with his back turned looking pants shittingly TERRIFIED*
“…wh- WHAT IN THE FUCKING—“
btw NO PERSEUS SLANDER WILL BE TOLERATED‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Medusa, at the end of the day, is a monster AKA killed quite a lot of (potentially) innocent ppl, Perseus was just there doing what he had to do, Get out of my comment section Booktok Girlies :)
Leo. “If I had a nickel for every one of Percy’s half-brothers we’ve had to fight on this stupid quest, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice."
The other Gorgons cried for their sister's death but booktok gotta focus on some god who never even interacted with Medusa at all. At least use Pegasus and Chrysaor guys
