❛ oh , ❜ he exhaled. it was a gentle, soft thing, the haze of color around her. ❛ it's like honey, ❜ he began, unable to stop the way his eyes from darting every which way, eager to take in the depth of shades. ❛ almost like whiskey, in some spots, ❜ he let his gaze rake the lovely shades around her. ❛ almost like —- like when you go to a creek and the sunlight hits the water just right. shimmering. ❜ ( you catch the way it drew your attention so wholly. ) kieran cleared his throat for a moment and straightened. ❛ yeah, it's... very pretty. ❜
the gardens were unusually quiet, not because the flowers had ceased blooming, that would have been impossible in the presence of either aphrodite or demeter's bloodline. but because the evening itself seemed burdened by something heavier than silence. aphrodite sat beside a marble fountain, fingers trailing lazily through the water as roses climbed the stone behind her in impossible abundace. wherever she lingered, beauty followed, it always had.
tonight, however, beauty felt strangely hollow. perhaps that was why she had agreed to this meeting. or perhaps she simply could not ignore the irony. andromeda, daughter of demeter, seeking the favor of the goddess of love. a woman abandoned by happiness coming to bargain for more of it. her violet gaze lifted as andromeda approached. for several moments aphrodite said nothing, she simply watched. there was grief in the girl, not the fresh kind of grief, not the kind that bled openly. this grief had settled into her bones.
aphrodite recognized it immediately. after all, she carried enough of her own. ❝ you know, ❞ she finally spoke, her voice soft enough to blend with the fountain's gentle murmur. ❝ most people come to me before they lose everything. ❞ the goddess lowered her gaze to the water once more. ❝ they pray for affection, for devotion and happy endings. ❞ a faint smile touched her lips, it was not a particularly happy one. ❝ you came after. ❞
only then did she look directly at andromeda. the weight of divine attention settled between them. not cruel, nor kind. simply impossible to avoid. her head tilted slightly. ❝ tell me, little blossom ... ❞ the nickname should have sounded affectionate, instead it felt almost dangerous. ❝ why do you still seek my blessing ? ❞
@chth0nia ♡ for something from aphrodite to andromeda.
@chth0nia
She hadn't Seen it at first. Whether that was a failure on her part or just the girl's very nature making it difficult even for the Sight to sense without further inspection, Lilia didn't know. What she did know was that while that fire had been burning around them, she had finally Seen it.
It seemed their spell hadn't summoned a replacement green witch after all, not technically anyway.
Leaving the others gathered around the dying campfire, each of them slowly falling asleep, Lilia had gestured for Andromeda to follow her to a more private part of The Road.
"When we did the spell to summon a Green Witch, I was shocked by how quickly it worked," Lilia admitted. None of them had been honing their craft lately, and true witchcraft usually took time even with the most practised and skilled witches. "And I was even more shocked that you came out of the actual ground." No where in the spell had it said that was going to happen.
"But now I know why. It's not witch energy I Saw in you, it's celestial. You're a demigoddess."
@chth0nia : " you never called . " random three word prompts .
you never called . he didn't . he wanted to , but he didn't . there were too many reasons why he hadn't responded to her missed call , all were fragments of excuses , broken sentences with genuine claims for his negligence that he dare not mull over lest he come to conclusion that they were all ridiculous . and they were , but nothing could convince him otherwise .
" m'sorry . . . " defeated before he's even begun . " i . . . i don't know what you want me to say . " he can't look at her , and makes a haphazard shrug of his shoulders that rocks his entire body . " i just , i dunno . . . i know i'm welcome but - " he has to tell her , even if the words sounded stupid on the precipice of articulation . it has the brief glimpse he throws to her feel like a burn he could have easily avoided , " i just felt overwhelming , y'know ? you're too nice to me to just tell me to fuck off . "

𝓒ECILY STILLS. unmoving, but for the well - trained breaths lungs shallowly draw. even under DURESS, one mustn't give away their true nature — yet andromeda knows hers all too well. ( – too well to be looking upon you in that manner [ ... ] this precious daughter of the earth gazes at you with more yearning than you deserve. ) even tangled nude among olive sheets, cecily had felt less vulnerable, yet no less prone to this sweet coercion of annie's. does she know what power those sleepy pearls hold, to KEEP cecily here even a moment longer than intended? covers slip over bare, pale skin as she shifts, angling towards andromeda with a certain softness upon her features. ❛ ❛ okay, miláček. ❜ ❜ she concedes, her tone a tender murmur. the subtle smile that DANCES over lips is endeared, almost shy. ❛ ❛ — only if you promise that benny can't open the door. ❜ ❜

“I feel a silence underneath.”
His body, he meant. Where there was always a persistent, natural hum; a nature of the Weave that coursed with an effortless drive through his veins, now silenced under the weight of the orb. Of his mistakes. “In these valleys of blood, these rivers of rust.” But it wasn’t just that, it was tainted– more than what an organic production of animalistic iron produced, the typical essence that resided in one’s form. The wizard's was intoxicated with the saturation of Netherese decay. He felt cold the further it progressed– the further it consumed him. It was an unsettling quiet, one that someone like himself could never get acquainted properly with.

He can't look at it.
No matter how hard Cruor tries, no matter how much he tries to fortify the steel of his spine, it's impossible. The slightest glance in it's direction frays his nerves. Blurs the very edge of that blessed curse The Marked retain as true sight to a nauseating degree.
Cruor can't look at the third entity in this conversation, yet he still tries. Even as his stomach plummets and every single strand of hair stands at end. He chances a nod in the other's direction, albeit with eyes closed but still with a weak smile present. He can still feel that gaze pierce through him like this.
"S.... o, who's your, uh..." Face angled towards Annie's way, he blinks his eyes open again. Hopes it's not too obvious just how unsettled he is by this ... stranger's presence. "Um, friend?"
