A little painting for fun of Chuchuel (my Kobold Trail Guide Druid Old Man)!!!! Really wanted to paint him doing some Trail Guiding and it is REALLY really fun to paint this guy. Also a fun excuse to show off his summons! They look and feel like clay pottery :)

MEET CHUCHUEL!!! An old Kobold Druid for a western themed DND 3.5 campaign (that got canned before the first session woops!!) He works as a trail guide to lead people through the plains n deserts, but for a price! He's chatty, laughs at his own jokes, and takes the safety of other people pretty seriously despite his attitude!
He's quite new to both being both a trail guide AND a summoner, but he's good at what he does! Despite friendly faces, he's quite averse to being too straight forward. But hey, when you're walking with a guy for three days straight he'll definitely have SOMETHING to tell you.

While not usually very keen on his clientele for a variety of reasons, he still takes his job and their safety very seriously. But this does not stop him from hiking up prices and intentionally taking longer, it's not like they'd have another choice! But more than anything, he is a storyteller! Chuchuel loves to tell tales of how the world was formed, the history of the land, and will even sometimes make up stories and rumors. (Which. People will believe him full faced and sometimes spread among other travelers woops.)
Despite his current occupation though, he was once one of five revered elders among his town! He worked tirelessly to pass down oral traditions down and sort of Keep the history of their world! After the head of the village passed away though, an election was held for one of said five leaders to be the new head! And to test the meddle of the new head, often they are given a vision of the future to see!
...Uh! The vision basically spelled the apocalypse for Chuchuel's town and culture! While the nature of it is unknown, it's basically said that within their lifetime the end would be coming. While the four other elders accepted this "Undeniable Fate", Chuchuel threw a hissy fit and denied it all! Even going as far as rigging the election process in hopes he could prove that this wouldn't happen! But people found out, and politely asked him to leave the village for about a week. He has not been back in a year.
Holding a love for his history and town, he now wanders the land finding proof that'll show everyone this apocalypse is TOTALLY not happening guys GUYS it's fine (denial). He's now pivoted to "druid" adjacent magic in hopes of being able to speak with the planet itself finding himself unable to trust other people, hoping it will give him the proof he needs. If not that, he can raise tons of money to fortify and reinforce his town in case anything happens! Or...or maybe he can find someone who truly can stop it. To prove everything will be OK.
It feels like time is getting close. And Chuchuel is still quite far away.
