Rosetta, won’t you let up one more time?
Conversating underrated on the real so let me dial
I got patience, I’m a waitlist, check my Rolly, I got time
Is you home or 'notha addy?
Send location on a dime, tryna talk a little
(Talk, talk) Walk in the door with a attitude, brush it right off, gon' flick it like
(Talk, talk) Divin' head first in the landing, double replay, gon' stick it like
(Talk, talk) S-U, double T, O-N, Chuck hittin' licks, no middle man
Leavin' such a good impression
Rosé done got me stressin'
I don’t wanna say what you have me thinkin'
Just a little more of that body language
Nothing’s etched in stone, Rosetta
And when we talk, I could feel the whole world stop
It’s all out on the table
So tell me what you want, Rosetta
Chuck Sutton - Hot Tea Handshake
VALENTINE & Halpe - Falling (Feat. Chuck Sutton).
Shouts: Majestic Casual
Halpe alighted on our radar thanks to the Argentina producer’s collaborative remix with Kansas City beat maestro VALENTINE last year. We loved the dark complexity of their take on Jai Wolf’s Like It’s Over. Fast forward to now, and the two have reunited on a riveting original named Falling, featuring New Jersey’s Chuck Sutton on emotive vocals that remind us of Sakima and EDEN. We find ourselves in texture heaven as VALENTINE and Halpe churn out a tactile future beats and chill trap banger with animated chimes and sharp synth shards. It’s a gorgeous yet thrilling edit with endless unpredictable twists and turns, a gleaming maze of a wondrous and verdant track.
VALENTINE explains of the track: “Falling is the initial spark. When the two right people meet there is an undeniable force, a mysterious catalyst drawing them together. Whether a skittish glance across a room, a shared recognition of a special moment, or an inexplicable attraction, it’s obvious that this catalyst was always inevitable. Nothing could have held these two bodies from the precipice of a cliff, sheltering them from the fall into ensuing beauty, agony, pleasure and envelopment. There is nothing deliberate about this plunge; neither person has any choice. For better or worse, they’re together until the end of this journey. This is is the beginning of another love story, specifically my love story.” Stream/download Falling, here.
