“I’m always serious when it comes to Kunikida-kun,” Dazai says solemnly. It’s a fucking lie as far as Chuuya is concerned—Dazai is rarely serious about anything, because he’s unable to grapple with the resulting vulnerability—but… maybe they should have realized Dazai and Ranpo would come up with some grand scheme to get Chuuya to see Kunikida in the same way they do. And, of course, once that was accomplished, this would be the only logical next step. “You two are the worst,” Chuuya grumbles. “What’s the plan?”

or: dazai and ranpo's magnificent plan to woo kunikida has one glaring flaw. luckily, they have chuuya to balance things out.
