Cassidy's shattered heart
Nerissa could not believe, what happened. She could not believe, that she could attack Cassidy. Obsession over Heart of Kandrakar blinded her so much, that she used her power against her lover. Nerissa rushed down from top of Mount Thanos to check if Cassidy was alive. But the sight was like a nightmare. Cassidy was lying on snow, motionless. Nerissa kneeled beside her, she tried to wake her up. Nothing. But that was not the worst. Cassidy was not breathing, her pulse was absent. Nerissa was frightened, her lover is dying. Nerissa immediately started doing CPR. Chest compressions along with rescue breaths were supposed to bring Cassidy back to life. But it was not bringing any effect. Cassidy was not responding. Nerissa knew that electricity could be used to restart somebody's heart. And since her element was Quintessence, she could use its power easily. A little bit of hope was by Nerissa's side as she started using her energy. Her goal was to restart heart of Cassidy. Energy waves of Quintessence were focused on Cassidy's heart. Her chest was lifted a little, because of discharges. But she was not coming back. Nerissa was in despair, because none of energy waves worked. She cried, continued CPR, asking herself, why it didn't work. Suddenly she realised. It was her anger, that made her attack unclean, filled with negativity. Cassidy was dead the moment lightning reached her heart. There was no saving, no chance for revival. Nerissa wept tears in most of despair. She was a killer. She used Quintessence to end life. She will forever have Cassidy's blood on her hands. Cassidy's cold body was lifeless. Nerissa hugged Cassidy's body. Despair was tearing Nerissa's soul apart. There was no hope for better tomorrow. She decided to bury Cassidy, this was the only thing she could do for her lover. But this will change nothing. Vision of Cassidy's lifeless body will forever haunt Nerissa's mind.
