Blue Neon Cichlid | Paracyprichromis nigripinnis
The Blue Neon is a peaceful community cichlid. They are very peaceful toward other fish and their gregarious nature allows them to be housed with non-cichlids. They will work with Featherfins or sand dwelling Lake Tanganyikan fish.
Hey there Fishblr! I'm looking for some advice- it's time for me to upgrade my tanks and the next size up is going to be a bit of a deal. I currently have 3 fish: 2 goldfish (🐡🐡Spahm and Peter) in a 20 gallon and an African Cichild (🐟 Natasha) in a 10 gallon. Natasha is officially big enough to warrant at least a 20 gallon by herself. And my Goldies are getting too big for their tank too. ((Please ignore the algae- I've been fighting it and I haven't cleaned the tank this week.)) As I'm in an apartment I can't just set up my ideal tanks- there's just not enough room. So I've been upgrading the tanks as needed. And now- it's needed. I want to put Natasha in the 20 gallon- she should be okay there for a bit. But the Goldies are about 6" and 4" respectively- I need a bigger tank. As I'm renting- any tank is going to have to be free standing- no options for a built in 😥. So I'd need to get a stand or something... I saw some 35 gallon tanks at Petco (with stands)- but I don't know if that's big enough. I'd like my goldies to be okay in the tank for at least a year or 2. I am concerned about the weight of a 50 gallon tank, as I'm on the 3rd floor. I don't want to flood the neighbors or hurt the fish! And finding space for a 50 gallon in my apartment will be pretty tough. Any thoughts? Everyone seems happy and healthy for now. But my fishies are growing up! They deserve the best.
So its been busy in my big tank this week, two of my Blue Acaras are parents! I’ve never had baby fish so this is a fun new experience for me

My boys Turk and J.D. I offered to take these guys from a friend as they were getting to big for their other tank, and are now in my 110 litre with 3 congo tetras.
