Behold, the most gigantic art project I’ve taken in about three years. I have no clue what compelled me to do a drawing like this but I’m glad I did! This was a fun challenge and helped me draw some characters I had never drawn before. Hope you all enjoy!

Ok normally I don’t like adding a whole lot of tags to my post but I need EVERY Sanrio fan to see this because I feel like I’m going insane.

When I was little there was a Sanrio character I adored named Afro Ken. He was a brown dog with a rainbow Afro. There were variations of Afro Ken. There was also this cute little cartoon about him which included an interview with the guy who made him.

HOWEVER. I cant find ANYONES opinion on this damn dog. I know he exists because the cartoon is on YouTube, and people have old plushes/sticker sheets of him. But not only will Sanrio post nothing about Afro Ken, nobody I’ve talked to knew he existed and I can’t find anything talking about Afro Ken??? Does anyone remember Afro Ken? What were your thoughts on him? Did you like him? Pictures are included as a reference.

Edit: so upon further research the company that made afro ken is a DIFFERENT company than Sanrio. I always thought San x was a shortened version of or at least a branch of Sanrio? Huh. They made rilakkuma too apparently. Well whatever still please state your thoughts or memories of this dog
