Slowly but surely I'm chipping away at the MalTrina dream sequence comic from Field of Reeds, maybe one day this year it'll be done. But in the meantime I really like how these 2 panels came out from the lineart so I figured I'd share it as a little WIP 😌

For the WIPs, I am asking about Scarlet Bloom!

The other MalMiq WIP on the list! This was originally the fic I was working on for the Day 5 prompt for MalMiq week for "Bloom" that quickly spiraled out of control and I had to shelve. It follows Malenia during the Battle of Aeonia when she chooses to bloom and the aftermath in the Haligtree (an AU where Miq is still awake there and is about to cocoon himself) where she's dragged in basically dead at that point and he essentially lays her to rest in the roots of the Haligtree. Here's a small excerpt:

Radahn's blade cut toward her, too close for Malenia to dodge entirely. His blade found purchase in the metal of her arm, the gift of gold given to her by her brother shattering beneath its force. Fragments of dulled unalloyed gold scattered on the ground around her, each the result of a lifetime of bloodletting, of countless golden petals delicately harvested and crafted all for her sake. But Malenia continued onward, clinging to her blade like a lifeline in her other hand. Now was not the time to grieve. They were surrounded by a sea of corpses, rising ever higher with each day of war which came to pass. Her brother's faithful fought with honor to their last, willingly sacrificing their lives in the hopes they would one day see the gentler future he had promised. It was the same future Malenia fought for; the dream Miquella first shared with her when they were children, repeated more fervently over the years to soothe her in her moments of pain, and whispered sweetly against her flesh during sleepless nights. Shifting her blade in front of her chest, Malenia mourned that they would never have a chance to see it.

Oops sorry anon, you sent this after I caught up on my inbox but I do actually have a MalMiq art piece I can share that's more than just the ref photo itself! Like the rest, this one is oh so creatively titled "MalMiq18"

Ignore the messy color blocking I was trying to use it to spark some ideas of what do to for Malenia's clothing/pose and how to make it work. (I still have no idea what to do so it didn't work lol)
