Cinder/Cindo or Cinderella

Thousands of variations of “Cinderella” or “The Glass Slipper” have been told throughout the world. It is about a person who faces cruelty but ends up with the happy ending. Although the story's title and main character's name change in different languages, in English-language folklore Cinderella is an archetypal name. The word Cinderella has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes were unrecognized and unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect (a Cinderella story).

In the most recent American version, it is implied that Cinderella’s name is actually Ella, but she is always so dusty and dirty from cleaning and/or sleeping by the fireplace (and is covered in ashes) that they call her Cinderella instead. This could explain your cat’s black fur! Does your cat have unrecognized talents? Or maybe your cat looks like they’ve been rolling around in ashes? Either way, this is a great name for a black cat!
