time passes the way it does in the movies - you go to bed and next thing it’s morning and you’re on your way to work

Ten of My Favorite Guys From the Cinematic World

Since it is summer, I have been catching up on a lot of my favorite movies. I realized that I fantasize way too much over the male leads. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing, but I really need to just sort everything out and find out which cinematic guy is my favorite. I couldn't pick just one, I have ten in mind. So here are ten guys I am head over heals with in the cinematic world (in no particular order). 

Judd Nelson as John Bender in "The Breakfast Club" 

Pros: I mean look at him, he is the ultimate bad boy. He has that wild side that you can't resist, and we all know Claire couldn't resist either. He has a hardcore look about him and he has great hair. He also had the hots for Claire Standish, and he had one of the most iconic scenes in movie history where he threw his fist up in the air, because he knew he had gotten one of the most amazing (and not to mention popular) girls to fall for him. Even though a bad boy may be mysterious and rough, he will probably have a sweet and sensitive side to him as well. 

Cons: The bad boys do get into way too much trouble. While hiding from the principal, he was underneath a desk and looked right up Claire's skirt and tried to feel his way up, way too much, pal. Luckily, Claire stealthily stopped him without getting him in trouble with the principal. He also made Claire cry when The Breakfast Club was having a heart to heart. You never play with a girl's emotions. Sometimes bad boys will give you a hard time. 

Harrison Ford as Han Solo in the original "Star Wars" trilogy

Pros: Holy Guacamole! Can we just sit here for a moment and gaze upon Harrison Ford's gorgeousness... Okay, moment's over. Still, how can someone have looks and a debonair personality. Harrison Ford as Han Solo was one of my first crushes. He will always be one of my crushes. Han Solo helped Luke save the Princess and then totally fell in love her. What girl didn't want to be Princess Leia? He nearly gave up his life for his friends (mostly Leia) by freezing in the carbonite. He also is a total scoundrel, which definitely equals bad boy. Could you want anything more? 

Cons: There are no cons for Han Solo. He is perfection. Moving on. 

Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird" 

Pros: Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch is one of the best father roles ever in movie history. Atticus is such a loving and respected man in the movie, he loves his children, believes in equality between racial backgrounds, and protects his friends and family. He is the perfect man to have as the father of your children, he loves, respects, nurtures, and protects. He is a role model to every father out there. Don't believe me? Watch the movie and read the book. On a side note, Gregory Peck also filmed a movie with Audrey Hepburn called "Roman Holiday" and his grandson is Ethan Peck (looks and sounds a lot like him as well) who starred along side the Olsen Twins in Passport to Paris and played in the tv show "10 Things I Hate About You. 

Cons: Irrelevant. There are no cons for Gregory Peck or Atticus Finch. 

Matthew Lewis as Neville Longbottom in the "Harry Potter" films

Pros: I know you are going to think I am a weird and crazy person after this, but I love Neville Longbottom. I know a lot of people are probably saying, what about Ron or Harry? Don't get me wrong, I love Ron and Harry, but I absolutely adore Neville. He started out as a cute kid who always was the butt of all the jokes, but as he got older and more confident, nothing could stop him. He is definitely one of the key players in the series. From the beginning it was either Harry or Neville who was the Chosen One. Both boys were eligible, but it was Harry who was ultimately the Chosen One. Neville was a secret weapon that nobody suspected, not even Neville himself. He killed the last Horcrux and stood up to Voldemort. Who wouldn't want him? Plus he's british. Sometimes british is better. 

Cons: The only negative things I could think about Neville was his teeth in the films, but it's what made him british... and that's good. 

Gerard Butler as the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera" (2004)

Pros: The Phantom (in the book his name is Erik) is such a dark and romantic character. He lures you in with his sweet and powerful voice and the seduction of his music. I love Gerard Butler's Phantom, although I do love the original Michael Crawford, I just can't get Gerard Butler's beautiful performance out of my head. It was absolutely awe-inspiring. I love how his music speaks when he can't and his love for Christine is beautiful and passionate. I wish she would have picked The Phantom over Raoul. What I love the most out of The Phantom character is that he never stopped loving Christine after she left him. That's true love. 

Cons: His sadistic and evil side of him I could not handle that. Also the way he sneaks up on people. I literally jumped when he would appear out of nowhere or he would surprisingly kill someone. That side of him is just too much. 

Ryan Gosling as Noah Calhoun in "The Notebook" 

Pros: I love Noah's romantic personality. He's quiet and compassionate and knows how to win back his woman. Even when he was older, he read to Allie their story so she could remember, even when the dementia and Alzheimer's took over her. He still fought to have her remember, even for a second, their love. The way he wrote a letter to Allie everyday for a year to try and get her back, oh my gosh, it makes me wish I lived in such a romantic time like the 40's. Noah is a very strong and determined man. He follows through on his promise to restore the plantation house, but never gets rid of the house, cause of the memories he and Allie had in the house. Not to mention, he also reads poetry and works out by rowing. Holy Crow! He is definitely fit. 

Cons: I cannot believe it took him seven years to see Allie again. 

Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson in "Titanic"

Pros: I know that every girl in the 90's, even today, want a guy like Jack Dawson. He's a romantic, an artist, and he sacrifices himself for the one he loves. He gives up his life so that she could have a chance at living, when he has lived his life to the fullest. Let me first get this out of the way and then I can tell you all the reasons why I love Jack Dawson... He couldn't have been on the piece of the debris as well. If the board were on solid ground, yes, he could have by space on it, but the density is another thing. Remember when the were both trying to get on it? It started to sink on one side and flip over. It was only strong enough to fit one person and still float. He gave up his life for her. What a heroic act to do for someone you love. Although, I do wish that she could have later found out she was pregnant with his baby after the sinking and all, but her taking his last name as her own was poetic enough for their love story. I love Jacks personality as being a Bohemian. It makes him that free spirit we either wish we had or a person we love had. He is that tragic beautiful character that each one of us secretly loves. Although, I do wish he still lived. 

Cons: Why did he have to die? Why? 

Heath Ledger as Patrick Verona in "10 Things I Hate About You"

Pros: He's played by Heath Ledger. That should be all the pros I give you, but I will give you more. He's a mysterious stud who everyone is scared of. He then falls in love with a girl who is equally as scary as he. In the movie, he uses his wits to get the girl, such as singing in front of most of the school to the song "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You." He considers paint ball a legit date (yes, please) and he is such a gentleman. Ever since I saw this movie, I had a definite crush on Heath Ledger and always will. 

Cons: He smokes cigarettes. I don't really like the smell of cigarettes. 

Ryan Gosling as Jacob Palmer in "Crazy, Stupid Love"

Pros: I'm sorry, I had to put up this picture, it's too beautiful. In "Crazy, Stupid Love" Jacob Palmer knows everything about women. I totally wish so many guys could learn from him. He dresses well, sharp looking, and knows how to treat women. He ultimately found a girl he fell in love with a girl and is at a lose when she comes into his life. He doesn't take her out on the usual date. They are both out of their comfort zone and can be themselves around each other. He is the ultimate guy. Guys, if you are reading this, watch this movie and take notes on how he treats the girl he falls in love with and how he dresses. 

Cons: I don't like how he was that lady's man in the beginning, always sleeping around with different girls every night. 

Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in the "Indiana Jones" films

Pros: Yes, another role Harrison Ford played is up on here. Indiana Jones is such a man's man. He goes off on adventures and knows how to survive in the most deadliest situations. He always gets the girl and he knows how to romanticize her. Every girl wants to be with him, including the younger girls he teaches at the university. He travels the world and searches for treasure to put in the museums, where they belong. Who wouldn't want to travel with him. One of my favorite lines he says in all the movies is in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." He meets Dr. Elsa Schneider as he gets off the plane and they exchange a few words and she says, "You have your fathers eyes" and he replies, "And my mother's ears, but the rest belongs to you." Doesn't that just make your heart skip a beat? 

Cons: He gets into so many deadly situations that you just never know if he could make it or not. 

That has been ten of my favorite guys from the movies. Now, I just want to say that when "Les Miserables" comes out with Hugh Jackman, he will be added to this list. Cause he sings and he is good looking, what more could you want?
