cinematic world
a world where everything works according to the cinematography rules
time passes the way it does in the movies - you go to bed and next thing it’s morning and you’re on your way to work
you don’t remember sleeping or getting up/dressed/breakfast, you’re just there - and it’s normal
sometimes though you’ve got this short sequence of the things you’d done up to current point in your life, you don’t remember doing them, you just have this short vid in your head that tells you what you’ve been up to and what’s more likely to be your next move
hair and makeup always remains flawless even if you’re crawling through the muddy rainforest on some distant moon of a faraway planet
when you need to go somewhere by car/train/plane/any other means of transport you don’t actually travel anywhere: you sit in a vehicle with a greenscreen all around you, the vehicle shakes but stays in the same spot; in a little while you exit the vehicle and find that you’ve arrived at your destination
if you find yourself walking into a bank while it’s being robbed and you feel a strong urge to fight the criminals using nothing but a half-burned match and your sassy attitude, chances are that you’re the Hero who can easily dodge a hail of bullets and save the day sustaining only Minor Injury
you know for a fact that accidental meetings lead to love triangles, so if you don’t feel like burdening your life with unnecessary romance you better hide in the bathroom whenever you notice someone you haven’t seen in a decade entering the coffee shop you just walked into
you’re never surprised to see aliens, vampires, werewolves, witches or psychics: everyne knows those are real
however, if it’s the first time you’re encountering any particular non-human species, you should probably duck: there’s a good chance you might be set up as an Innocent Bystander (you know those always end up lying very still on the coroner’s table for long periods of time - and that’s boring and also cold)
you can always tell when shit’s about to go down by the change in background music
the most dreaded fate is that of a Minor Background Character: all your life is just glimpses of you doing mundane things nobody pays attention to, or standing by the elevators with a cup of coffee while something happens in the other end of the hall
although some people prefer the fate of a Minor Background Character as it doesn’t require too much thinking and spares you the burden of emotions and constantly questioning your purpose in life
death as we know it is impossible in the cinematic world
if you die you have to lay very still for various lengths of time, sometimes get displayed in a coffin and buried
after that you find yourself elsewhere with a whole new backstory (if you’re lucky) and a different life to live
you remember them all, the stories you’ve been a part of, all the lives you lived
there’s a 99.9% chance you and everyone you know are healthy straight white cisgender people
