13 - “God, you’re so beautiful.”

Guzma’s been staring at you all day. 

It starts with little glances while you're eating breakfast. While he moodily chews his granola bar from atop his throne, his eyes flick to your face, his expression completely unreadable. You might’ve missed it, had you not been staring at him in the first place. At first, you think maybe he’s just looking at one of the other Grunts, or just gazing aimlessly across his little gang.

But then it happens again, and it keeps happening throughout the day. These gazes are harder to miss, and they grow in length each time, until eventually he’s just openly watching you without shame. Your face is perpetually red, something you try to play off as just being the Alolan heat. It becomes a distraction, feeling his eyes upon you, and your training with the other Grunts doesn’t go well.

As punishment for your many losses in training, you’re banished to cleaning duty. The other Grunts laugh derisively as they drop their dirty dishes into the sink full of soapy water and leave you. 

While you clean, you get just one visitor. The Boss himself. Casually, he leans against the door frame to the kitchen, hands in his pockets, and seems content to merely stare at you like he has all day.

But now you’re humiliated and angry, and you turn away from the dishes to glare in his direction.

“So what gives, Boss? You been starin’ at me all day, makin’ me all flustered, and now you come in here just to gloat? I got thrashed ‘cause of you. Is it ‘cause I’m the newbie?”

A lazy, lopsided grin curves his lip as he approaches you. He saunters closer, a smug glint to his eye. “That’s what you think?”

“That’s what’s happenin’, ain’t it?” 

He’s close now, pressing you back against the counter, and your heart skips a beat when his hands touch your hips. “Nah, sweet thing,” he says quietly, and you can’t breathe. “I been starin’ cause... God, you’re so beautiful.”

“...Boss.”

A low chuckle escapes him. “You can call me Guzma, babe... Not that I don’t like ‘Boss’...”

Again, for Nine:

21: Would they continue their legacy by having children? Adopt? Get an apprentice?

If you’d asked Nine this any time before the end of KOTET: absolutely not. After everything that happened, especially with Valkorion rattling around her head, she’d never see herself as a mother in a thousand years- she’d be too afraid any children she’d have would end up like her because she doesn’t know any other way to be. Adoption would be the same- it’s the raising that’s the problem, not that she’s afraid of physically having a child. (She wouldn’t really consider an apprentice as a non-Force user, though she’s trained plenty of people over the years).

After KOTET: it takes them a while to come around to it, but she and Theron do eventually end up having a child. (Just the one, I think. Nine’s already in her late thirties by then, and given how that one turns out they’ll more than have their hands full…)

53: Did they trust Empress Acina at first? What about later?

Nine worked with Acina (or *for* Acina, more properly) with the Seeds of Rage, so she’d had some experience with her in the past. She trusts her as much as any Sith- which is to say she entirely expects that this partnership will last only until such time as it benefits the Empire. Right now, though, with the Republic still out for blood against the Alliance AND the Empire, they’re both smart enough to realize that they’re better off working together than trying to go it alone.

And frankly, she much prefers having to deal with Acina alone than if she’d had to wrangle the entirety of the Dark Council- that would never have worked, and Acina wasn’t seated on the Council at the time the Castellan restraints were put on Nine. Whether she knows about that isn’t clear. Nine’s pretty sure she doesn’t, though, or it probably would have come up by now.

Nine never thought Acina was the traitor. That’s not the woman’s style.

62: Was their love interest present? If so, how has their relationship developed?

Already answered, mostly. A bit of bonus info, however (eyyyy spoilers):

Their wedding ends up being much more of a *thing* than either of them wanted, mostly because despite not actually wanting or claiming the throne she still ends up as the de facto Empress of Zakuul until such time as she can convince them to form their own proper government.

On their wedding day they’ve technically already been married for two weeks, having detoured on their way back from a mission to whatever the Star Wars equivalent of Gretna Green would be. (The witnesses were Kaliyo and Tee-Seven. Droids count, apparently. Who knew?)

2 : Favorite dad?

it is so easy to say craig because he is!!!! like i love all of the dads (esp damien and robert which was unexpected??) but craig has had a special place in my heart ever since the reveal was dropped<33

3 : Least favorite dad?

i really Really hate to say it, but i’m not too into brian.  he’s a great dude and character, but i can’t get past the whole “put my daughter on a pedestal so that i can brag about her and conveniently myself as well” vibe that he immediately gives off.  if it wasn’t literally the first thing he did, i would’ve been totally fine with brian!!  i just feel bad because i’m sure he’s a wonderful dad otherwise but literally nothing is worse than that for me.

8 : Favorite date?

honestly the first robert date probably!  there was something that just felt very genuine and i lowkey live for that rebellious edge that he gives off.  like?? throwing rocks at signs and cars???  sneaking into movie theatres and listening to robert’s snarky lil comments?????  outsmarting ernest?  best night ever. (and mary was very entertaining while she was around^^)

24 : Any particular moment(s) that resonated with, impacted, or affected you?

the whole cooking scene with craig on the third date really did a number on my heart, just because it was so painfully relatable.  every single thing he does is dedicated to helping his kids make sure that they feel supported, comfortable, and happy.  he would do anything and everything for him, and he already has.  i know that feeling way too well because i do the exact same thing.  i care about those around me so much more than i ever could care about myself, and i forget to do just that.  hearing my dadsona say, “you’re spreading yourself too thin.  life needs balance.  it’s great that you care this much about your kids, but… you can’t neglect your own needs because you’re too busy taking care of everyone else’s.  you matter too,” really got me good.  it was definitely something that i needed to hear at the moment, because i haven’t really been taking care of myself, and i need to step it up.  another line from craig himself that really impacted me was, “stress is a funny thing, dude.  i didn’t realize how overworked i was until we got away from the city.  it’s honestly just as destructive as binge drinking every night and eating burritos off of the floor.”
