#cis friends

I posit this theory on why some cis folks end up with disproportionately trans friends:

Positive feedback loop.

Cis person is chill about trans people -> trans people notice, feel at ease, friendship ensues. -> Cis person learns community vocabulary, is at ease (past the "what if I say something like offensive" phase) -> trans people notice that this cis person is comfortable talking about trans issues and talks about us how we talk about ourselves, there’s no awkwardness with them, we might even identify that they’re someone who spends time with trans people often, befriending ensues. ->

The more trans people this person puts at ease, the more trans friends they end up with, the more perspectives they encounter, the more they learn how to be a good friend and ally.

TLDR: Cis people who make trans friends learn to be better friends to trans people and it snowballs.

I think it's hilarious when my cis guy friends see my packer and I tell them "that's the xs version" and something inside them just... Gets crushed for a second

I'm just glad their bs isn't getting notes because last year it would've been all over fandom. Saying they're speaking for trans people and claiming the ones saying Harry was trans were cis people stereotyping made bloggers who don't know better want to be on the unproblematic side. Knowing those days are over is such a relief 🏳️‍🌈💖🤗

ykw, and obviously i can’t really comment on all this fandom’s tumultuous history, but watching the fall of someone in this fandom who you could clearly tell had a big following brought me an immense amount of joy and i remember even just  few weeks ago it was a thing, like a second wave of people realizing her bullshit, and it made me proud knowing i was following the right people

trans people have every fucking right to be afraid of and uncomfortable around cis people

but calling that sort of distrust stupid or claiming they are wrong does not help at all

cis people are the ones who KILL trans people so of course we can be afraid??? it doesn't work both ways, either

and don't get started with "not all cis people are like that" because if you say that it kind of puts you into that category

if someone hates your demographic, be a fucking exception and don't make it ABOUT your demographic and NEVER use that to try and prove them wrong
