Autism and schizoid is such a weird combo. Like I don't feel hyperfixated on anything, but as I mentioned in this post it's a snowball effect. At least for me. I barely feel anything, but I'll be hyperfixated.
1 more thing is intense fixation / hyperfixation to the point of ignoring basic needs like food. (Speaking specifically about me. I'm cisautistic).
For me it's just food. I hate the feeling of thirst, but I tolerate hunger well. Sometimes I feel it but choose to ignore it, sometimes I just don't feel it. Btw, I ate in the morning and didn't eat till 1am. Pls be careful about it, especially if you have some stomach issues or eating disorders, ok?
To achieve that I do something that hooks me up and I usually turn on some fast paced/intense music so I wouldn't get bored too quickly. And then it's just a snowball. After a certain time period I get into it and can't get out unless I need to go to sleep. The drive will stay for a little while after I stop doing my thing.
You don't even have to like it, you just have to choose the right music/song and wait for the snowball AKA fixation to roll and get big enough.
I haven't seen anyone talk about it, but even if someone did, I'll remind every transautistic about T-Rex hands and tiptoing (not every autistic does this, I just decided to point it out).
I love my dinosaur hands, but tiptoing is sometimes lowkey annoying.
