I now have experienced one of my favourite type of compliments irl! Today we celebrated pride in my city and I went in my käärijä cosplay. At the afterparty I’d show people pictures ESC!Käärijä (obvious reasons) or me and Bojan (because I still can’t shut up about the Malmö gig). And between those seeing the pictures some were confused looking between me and the phone actually stating that me and either Jere or Bojan look alike!! (I am honestly most surprised about the Bojan one)

Lake Effect kid is fantastic. It's so smooth and beautiful and full of love. It has heart and soul.

Chicago people don't fuck around about loving Chicago. I live in south FL where we get people from all over and at work at the hospital today I got into the elevator with this lay and this couple, and they immediately identified themselves based on their accents as fellow Chicagoans. There was so much pride going on in that elevator. The one lady was all "Southside, born and raised!!!" And her husband was quick to classify that it was the "real" Southside, not the burbs. The other lady was all "hell yeah!!! I'm from near Wrigley field! Never missed a home game my entire time there!!!"

May 20 2023 Today it was pride in my city, and I had an amazing time. The Open Mic I volunteer at hosted an event and everybody participating did so good! I performed as well and got in contact with the event manager for the whole pride later who liked it enough to offer me my own slot in the program next year –I am speechless! Loved walking the parade and meeting up with old and new queer friends. The afterparty was fun too. Got to dance and lose my voice to Cha Cha Cha twice.
