So long story short Cassius has a mental breakdown about perfection and being an actor on the stage. Cue boss fight music

Idfk I bet one of the dialogue options was "You're perfect as you are." and "You don't need to be perfect." And like I forgot which one was the bad one but I'm guessing the first one made Cass spiral
Throughout the like convo Cassius kept hurting himself making cracks on his skin like porcelain

Uhhh. Okay hi I'm here now, and I'm AEONI so I'll try my best to accurately depict how Cassius' corruption went

Yeah, that's... That's basically Cassius' breakdown summed up. A lot of my OCs take on after my insecurities and faults, so Cassius is meant to represent how I (well, I should be using we now, haha) put on "masks" to appeal to other people
His character is meant to represent an actor; a puppet; a doll
What I'm thinking for his final form is disjointed limbs all barely connected by puppet strings (of course, with a LOT more cracks... My poor baby)
Nix forgot to mention that before you meet Cassius in the theater, you chase after him! In that chase, Cassius throws his jacket off as a way to distract Eugene and Charlie, then disappears into the theater
One of the two pick up the jacket before racing off to find him
Cue the lights, aaand Cassius is on the stage, his hands stained with his own corruption while it eats him from the inside
As Nix said above, he hurts himself while the two try talking him out of his twisted view of perfection and it was either
a) Charlie jumps on the stage and manages to punch Cassius before he throws them off
b) Cassius misses a step in his "play" and cracks his own face, revealing a hollow interior
Well, whatever option it was, every crack and wound in his body makes shards scatter everywhere
And you guys remember what Boss (or was it River?) said about shards?
If Eugene was eaten up by the monsters, tiny parts of his ghost form would be scattered everywhere, and it would take forever to put him back together with all the parts intact.
...Do you. Do you see what I'm getting at here?
So, Cassius practically tears himself apart. If you somehow get to him, he crumbles on the stage as a horrid mess, not daring to look the two in the eye.
Charlie drapes Cassius' jacket over his shoulders, affectionately snapping at him. "You're gonna get cold, damnit."
Maybe, just maybe, Eugene quietly thinks that this hit too close to home. The fact that they, too, felt the need to pretend. They get the feeling that they are also a puppet, a blind follower. (Coughs. Leads to CiU canon events! I am not normal about this)
Cassius will recover from this. He's broken beyond belief, sure, and his soul shards (idfk what they're called don't bully me) are who-knows-where, but he will recover.
Tainted, but healed. He will not go beyond the gates to the light, not yet. He will pick himself up and find his soul, one by one.
So, he has to bid the Underworld Office farewell for now. He gives Charlie his microphone—"I don't need it anymore. I'll find it again once I do."—and leaves

Well, he gets fully corrupted like the other ghosts and refuses to listen to reason—he has to be killed or fully shattered, never to come together again

and for the flippin' first time, i'm actually planning to do something for such special occasion like this!
for the rest of the month of june, i'll get some special, wacky artworks, doodles and sketches for celebrating each of the fandoms i'm in, mainly Charlie in Underworld and Rhythm Heaven, cuz' GUYS, THE GAMES GET ONE YEAR OLDER THIS MONTH
(and i absolutely love it. everyone in both games are gay as heck)
