Hello!! We are the Paracosm Collision. You guys can just call us Storywriter. We collectively go by they/them.
Welcome to our floating corner of Tumblr.
We are bodily a minor. We can and will block blogs we're uncomfortable with.

And that's it! We'll probably add all sorts of links here if we ever have some important story, or add a masterpost so you could find things you like easily. For now, cya!
"Pigeon" trudges the through the woods, wings flared out while he searched for Avians around the lodge. It shoots at everything that moves, gunshots ringing in its ears. He doesn't flinch as he does so, ecstasy fueling his bloodshed.
This was one of the more efficient ways of clearing their head. They didn't have to worry about the base since they're taking down Avians with each shot. It distracted them for a while.
I should address my thoughts on the past few weeks, a voice mentions, impatient. I'm off my game.
"Shut up," "Pigeon" barks back, shooting at the Avians who hide in the trees. It's easier to shoot when he knows where they are just by sensing their presence.
Isn't it odd though? It's quiet. Too quiet.
"Pigeon" momentarily pauses. He's in the middle of the forest now. There should be a multitude of bird calls here. They're right. Why was it so quiet?
The Avians are everywhere, yet not one of them called for each other.
The canopy shakes. "Pigeon" shoots up at the trees. "Cowards," it sneers, seemingly unfazed by the sight. Even so, its feathers puff up as its senses become overwhelmed with the call of its "kin."
All at once, the Avians screeched. Shrill, high-pitched calls echoed from the forest as they "glide" down with an odd stiffness. The corpses weighed their wings down, so they would stumble, inept in the art of flying. Despite their clumsiness, they are dangerously swift as ambush predators.
They will wait for a long time until they've got their prey cornered. They were simply waiting for someone to take the bait.
He should've expected this. It was getting too peaceful. "Pigeon" knows now that it's impossible to fend off a horde by himself.
Adrenaline pumps through their blood as the body moves by pure instinct. They were being hunted down until the Avians were satisfied. The mist sticks to their skin as they sprint, weaving through the trees to try losing the horde. They get nicked while passing a few trees, but their body is numb. Survival was their only goal. They just had to make it back to base, and—
They couldn't. They can't do that. That'll bring the entire base to ruins. Their children were in there. People that they needed to protect.
They swallow with their achingly dry throat, fumbling for the radio as they ran. "Pigeon to base, I'll be coming home late. Stay safe. Over and—"
They get tackled from behind, dropping the radio. The Avians start to catch up to them. They quickly take out their knife and stab the Avian on top of them in the neck before throwing it off. They grab the radio and run. They didn't want to regret leaving the radio behind if they live.
A few Avians take advantage of this and begin to rip and tear at them. Their talons ripped through their clothes and met their flesh with a searing pain. They kick them off, though immediately started up a run when they notice the horde catching up.
They end up reaching a bridge. Below, a river. The cry of Avians behind them only grew nearer. Without a second thought, they jumped.
Part one of Ornithology Pigeon's disappearance.. AKA my writing
Context for people who don't know, Eden "Pigeon" Kestrel is in an apocalypse based around a bird virus. He's currently in stage 2 out of 3 during this part.
There's also a bonus thing I added because I like relating to my OCs, but it's fun if someone else points it out... Giggles
First / Next
Goodbye
10 AM; cloudy
Eden stands by the kitchen counter, putting away some canned foods. "I'm going out to clear my mind," it blurts out, packing essentials in its messenger bag, including one vial of the temporary cure. "I won't take long."
Josephine adjusts her position on the couch to glare at him with a furrowed brow. "I can come," she quickly insists, already getting up to follow him.
Pidge eases away from her, taking two steps backward. His headwings fold over his eyes. "No, no, I need some time... Alone." His voice is unsteady, almost hesitant to leave the comfort of what he's called home.
She goes to drape her arms over their shoulders, staring up at them. "You don't like being alone. Why are you going now?" she questions, searching for an answer in their eyes.
Kestrel doesn't quite meet her gaze. It analyzes what to say here. Their mind is clouded, their memory fuzzy on what they last said. He takes her arms and goes to hold her hands in an open motion. "You know that I've been overwhelmed recently..." He takes a deep breath. "...I'll bring the radio with me. I have a gun and a good amount of ammunition. I will try not to stray too far from the base.
"I'm a scavenger. I'm used to going out alone now."
"Pigeon's" grip is tighter; insisting; pleading? Its talons dig into her skin, its tone firm when it voices its thoughts. He lets her go, taking his bag and gun with him. It doesn't turn to look back at Josephine.
"I'll be fine on my own. Just wait for me."
Josephine stares at him. He's been giving her so many mixed signals lately. She goes to grab him by his hair and argue, but he catches her wrist.
"I said to wait," it hisses before letting go of her again. "I didn't even step foot outside."
Josephine shakes her head, scowling. "What if you never come back?! I just got here, and now you're leaving?" she snaps back, clenching her fists. "I know that you're self-sufficient, but I care for you. You hate being alone..."
"Pigeon" stares at her, one hand reaching for its knife. Hesitation beckons for it to stop. He breathes out an exasperated sigh before reaching for the radio by his pocket. He holds it up for her to see before turning it on. "Pigeon to Hobby, the radio works. Over." It turns the radio back off.
Josephine, hearing her own radio buzz with his words, seems mildly comforted. She crosses her arms, knowing that she could drag him back... but for once, she doesn't fight back. The lodge has less Avians around than the military base, and Pigeon always reports back to base if something's gone awry.
She dips her head. "Stay safe."
They nod. "I will."
With that, they put their radio back in their pocket and holster their gun to their back, careful not to mess with their wings as they did so. They grab a lantern from the front porch and keep walking.
Their silhouette disappears when they go down the cliff stairs. Josephine takes out her radio, her hands shaking. They haven't been gone for even a minute yet, yet she's already worrying.
"why don't they ask chatgpt what to do" may seem like a joke, but that's their actual business plan:
"We have no idea how we may one day generate revenue (...) Once we build a sort of generally intelligent system, basically we will ask it to figure out a way to generate an investment return." -- Sam Altman

Their hair is fluffy and falls over their other eye. Scars are shown around their beak and on their arms. A halo hovers over their head. They are highlighted in white while the background is a dark reddish-purple. End ID.
Avian Pigeon... Ohhh he's so pretty. My beautiful boy who's going through The Horrors™
Should I make a text post with what I have written for him? It'll probably make NO SENSE but I like sharing my writing
💬 5 🔁 20 ❤️ 105 · Something I noticed about these two · I love Stratts smile lines soooooo much wrinkles are so attractive to me. 🫶
Stratt was not born cold. She was born bursting with life and laughter, finding joy in every part of living. She smiled when she heard the birds chirp every morning, and the sun shone in through the window. She smiled when she heard people laughing outside, or children playing on the streets. She grew up falling in love with every part of earth.
Grace was not born kind. He was born brimming with anger. He would frown when somebody insulted his intelligence, biting back sarcastic remarks. He frowned when teachers dismissed him, when his parents found time for others, but not him. He grew up resenting the people around him.
Stratt learned to be cold. With every fraction of the sun that dimmed, the part of her that shone and the smiles that once came so easy for her, dimmed with it. She learned how to shoulder responsibility and how to make the difficult calls when no one else would.
Grace learned to be kind. When he saw what his anger had cost him back in a conference room in Denmark, he let his anger and resentment die out. He learned how to be kind when he saw how kind children could be, and how to let that kindness become who he was.
When Stratt realised she had to send Grace, the one who shone for her, on the mission to die, the last lights in her were snuffed out. After years of carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, she found this to be the hardest decision she had to make. She wouldn't, couldn't change it, not while her love for humanity and earth lived on.
And so she asked Grace to die. And Grace, who was born angry, refused.
I wonder how Rocky would react to the concept of pluralty. DID, OSDD and such.
Maybe Grace had a student or two who were plural so he read up about it. And hes explaining it to Rocky some day, as context to a story about said students or some such.
And Rocky is just like "Oh! Its a Thrum!" And Grace just sits there for a while and is like. Yeah I geuss??? Kind of???
ID: Two girls side by side named Yua and Ichiren respectively.
Yua has white hair with a red underlayer, red eyes, and tan skin. She has various heart motifs in her hair, eyes, and ears. A halo hovers behind her. She wears a light green military vest over a light blue collared shirt.
Ichiren has black hair, brown eyes, and pale skin. She wears a standard school uniform: a black vest over an off-white collared shirt with a purple bow.
Yua leans towards Ichiren to hold her face. Ichiren stares directly at the camera with a solemn expression, looking like she's about to cry. The background is light blue with white and pink borders. End ID.
Orpheus and Eurydice myth (Hadestown specifically) as PHM
Eva as Hermes. She's interesting; complex. She cares deeply, but she's the god of boundaries (laws to be seen and broken); roads (petrova line); travelers (hm astronauts); shepherds (teachers and scientists collecting children and astrophage); commerce, speed (phm deadline. She gets things done), cunning, language, oratory (all three of those self-explanatory); wit, and messages.
She is the soul guide, here to conduct souls into the afterlife. Whether they are prepared for their death or not.
.
Ryland is Orpheus. On Earth, he is poor; he is lonely; he wants to make a difference. He joins the task force to try to prolong life and make spring come again.
He names the Astrophage. He figures out what they're made of. He's done his part.
.
But then:
Eva is Hades. She is a good person at soul and heart, but she Has to make the hard decisions. She needs to keep everyone in line, and only see and believe what she wants them to see and believe. She is the God Of Death. Of Riches. She has all the power, and will use it to ensure the fate of the Earth.
Ryland? He's Eurydice. Eva has three Astrophage, and Ryland? He tales them. The are his silver coin. In a desperate attempt to Feel something - to Be something - he seals his own fate.
You know what happens. "You're murdering me!"
But Eva's only doing her job; She's conducting the train on the road to Hell, and Ryland got on willingly when he took those astrophage. When he let her take his blood. When he became the Leading Scientist in Astrophage. And she can't very well let him go; everything she's built relies on him sacrificing himself.
.
In space:
Grace is once again Orpheus. He doesn't know where he's heard this song (aka why he has all this knowledge on the trip he's on when he has no memories) but he knows that if he finishes it, spring will Literally come again. The world will fall back into tune.
Rocky is Eurydice. "I was alone so long"/"Out in the cold so long" .... Rocky's been withering away. Lonely. He'd taken the silver coin and hopped on the train on the road to hell because he thought it led to life. But all he's gotten is death. Defeat. Helplessness.
(skip ahead a lil bc y'all know the story. Grace saves him. Brings him onto the ship. Gives him joy and hope and love. They risk their lives for each other and face death for each other.
When it's time to go their separate ways they Quite Literally can't turn around to see each other. Their ships have to face specific directions and if he even barely moves said ship out of position it has the potential to blow the other ship up.
They're headed home.)
When Ryland turns around for Rocky to save his life? Okay okay I KNOW people say he's Orpheus in this moment. But really:
Ryland is Eurydice! He's singing Eurydice's part in the Wait For Me reprise! ("I'm coming, wait for me/I hear the walls repeating/The falling of our feet and/It sounds like drumming/And we are not alone/I hear the rocks and stones/Echoing our song/I'm coming") He was given his second chance at life because of Rocky- a chance to go home. and he's Headed Home. But then Rocky. Ryland can Not just go home, not when Rocky's ship is failed.
So, in my head, the taumoeba is the fates and the Blip-A is Doubt Comes In. Because Things aren't going smoothly anymore. Ryland is banging on Rocky's ship, begging him to hear him, and Rocky does! He comes to Grace!
(plus uhhh Rocky's literally sitting in the dark feeling doubt and despair)
But in doing so, Ryland Can Not go back to Earth. He's accepted that he'll die. For Rocky. This is their version of the turning around.
Ryland never goes home, and Hades and Hermes have played their parts. They've gotten him to Hadestown.
Except this is a happy ending; Hadestown isn't death for Grace. It's lack of life on Earth. He successfully brought balance and spring back into the world, and he will live the rest of his days somewhere Not On Earth.
Rocky/Orpheus gets to go back to his home. With Ryland.
So there's this System Curse bingo going around and us& and several systems we know got only like 3, 4 squares on it at best, so I decided to make a more general one (with some recurring squares).
Note: For the specific entity ones (cat, dog, wolf, angel, etc) feel free to think of them as "associates themself with x" or "x-coded" or whatever, not "literally conceives of themself as an x". Most of us& are not actually animals in our head, we're just [animal]-coded lol.
mutuals if I like your vent post I promise I’m acknowledging your post and sending happy thoughts and hoping your ok bc I don’t know what to say and I promise I’m not happy you’re in pain
"The last time any human touched Ryland Grace was an act of horrific violence"
Well... Yes and no.
The last time Ryland Grace was CONSCIOUS of any human touch was when he was knocked out. Absolutely true.
But the last human contact he would have had was Yao and Ilyukhina. Who were told that he was scared about panicking during launch and asked to be sedated. Who did all the pre flight checks before the Hail Mary launched. Who would have carefully, gently carried Grace to his bed in the dormitory, made sure he was secure, and initiated his coma procedure.
There would have been love there. Remember Ilyukhina throwing her hands high and saying "welcome to crew!" Remember Yao saying how he hoped Grace would say yes. Remember how much the crew trusted Grace, Stratt's First Officer, the guy who helped them so much, and was so kind to them, and was the one who they entrusted their preferred methods of suicide to. Who thought they were wonderful and brave.
They would have tucked him in. Maybe brushed his hair out of his face. Maybe said something kind to him before initiating their own coma procedures.
Ryland Grace doesn't remember, of course he wouldn't. But the last human touch he ever had was full of love.
When we watch videos everyone is just kinda focused on it and watching it that I forget they’re all there..there hasn’t been this many of us together in a hot minute
