Holland vs Netherlands

These terms are often used interchangeably, but they refer to different areas.

Holland refers specifically to two provinces: North Holland and South Holland. Historically, these provinces were the most powerful and economically developed in the Netherlands, playing a crucial role during the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century.
