on a bit of a narnia kick rn, like I’ve rewatched the 2000s movies, I watched the 70s animated for the first time, and I’m currently watching the 80s and 90s BBC mini series(es). but I also like. have the 2005 GBA movie game. which i am playing on my DS. and it has no business being as fun as it is, but also my right hand is cramping SO bad
colin bridgerton is a butch lesbian that uses he/they pronouns, and is THANKFUL, for the bridgerton family’s stakes as the chair members of the itty bitty titty committee… he is ALSO thankful that his wife is not a fellow member (very thankful).
Finally getting back into reading consistently again after a long time and wow, wowowow I can officially say I adore Project Hail Mary. Used the movie coming out recently as an excuse to finally pick it up after it spent a year on my to-read list and man, what can I say other than it’s genuinely a good read. I’ve really liked the author’s previous stuff so I can’t say I’m shocked I enjoy this one tbh, but it’s hitting all the right sci-fi buttons for me right now. I really like tech heavy sci-fi with a sprinkle of whimsy, and this hits all of that while reminding me of so many of my favorite movies and books and such (it’s got really odd Innerspace vibes that I can’t quite place)
Anyways. I might doodle some portraits of our guys cause while I have not seen the movie, I HAVE seen the character designs and the fact that it looks like they just made Rocky naked is a crime. Give him back his little outfit
Looking at a piece of media that has two relatively important main characters who are both men, who do unquestionably have some type of history and some type of current energy, and deciding that No, actually, you don't ship them romantically... not as a past relationship, not as an AU, not as anything... that whatever their bond is or was, it's strictly platonic, that they just do not pop your corn that way (or even are a whole NoTP) does not mean you're automatically homophobic.
Even if they're popular.
Even if canon sorta winks at you and says they might have been a thing "if things were different".
It is okay to not dig on a ship, for whatever reason.
The only thing that isn't okay is to be a dilweed to other people about it.
Now that life has slowed down and given me my brain back, I'M BAAAAAAAAACK....
I've put all the writing I was tagged in into my queue. And I'm working on revisions on the next chapter of @magical-mistakes-vm. If anyone sees my spare brain cell running around...trap it and return it please!
Happy spooky WBW! Today, I wanna ask about omens in your world. Do they exist? Are they believed in? Religiously, spiritually, or otherwise?
I know it's not Wed, and I know it's after Halloween, but for me "spooky season" extends all the way to Thanksgiving...so....
Answer below cut
@theimperiumchronicles - This is kind of a given. Yes. I mean...look at that world.
@the-andromeda-effect - Not really. They are purely human. They are a bit superstitious, but not really.
@battlegroundofdreams - Kind of. It's hard to explain. Superstitions again mostly.
@devil-in-the-details-ay - Oh yeah, there are omens upon omens. They are definitely believed in and feared. There are rarely good ones.
@behindthesemasks - YES! OH FUCK YES! Voodoo baby! Good, bad, just existing. There are messages from the ancestors. They will become more prevalent as the story goes on, but ooooohhh yes.
@bendingthelaws - Like @the-andromeda-effect, not really. Superstitions a little bit. They are human and there is no real magic.
@inopinatus-ea - Yes. Why and what kind will become more apparent later. There is magic, lots of it. And there are oracles. The oracles will point out the omens.
@magical-mistakes-vm - Does Vollrath have a temper? *smirk*
@mystsoftime - Yes. As you figure out what gods are in play and how, the omens become more visible. The players in the game will see them as they happen.
@tapperhet-em - Yes. There are gods and beings in play that will leave clues for the humans to find.
@princess-of-thieves-id - Of course! What good seaman doesn't believe in omens?
@whileyouwait-dm - Yep! Now, they might not always be caught until it's too late, but they are there.
Now...make sure you're paying attention so you too can try to catch them in the writing. *wink*
