THIS IS MY FUCKING FAMILY
So who had jon hurwitz losing a karate kid twitter fight to kenny rogers on their 2025 bingo card
the devil couldn’t get to me by normal means so he invented the cobra kai writer’s room
If, after six seasons of Daniel and Miyagi- bashing, Karate Kid Legends ignored every single thing that went on in Cobra Kai while being a perfectly understandable sequel to all the films that would be such a power move!
Nobody says the word "Badass" once.
It's finally about Daniel becoming a sensei in his own style without anyone undermining him, and people appreciating what he brings to the table as a person and a teacher.
Just... Daniel being treated with the same respect he's always shown.
He's earnt it!
After all, he's still not really used to that, being shown basic respect for all he's learnt and taught. Even Chozen could be more aggressive than he was comfortable with.
Just saw Karate Kid: Legends and I’m just gonna say it, it’s fight scenes were infinitely better than Cobra Kai’s. Cobra Kai overused slow motion in the fight scenes a lot and showed the same move from several different angles, it made it feel boring to me and not as fast paced as a fight should feel. Karate Kid Legends fights all felt quick and only used slow motion like once or twice, and they didn’t repeat it from a dozen different angles, so I was actually invested.
Also Li Fong is an amazing protagonist, he loves his family (especially his mom and brother), is kind, isn’t toxic and is just a good guy. There’s no toxic masculinity to him or any other characters in the movie. Even Connor Day, the freaking antagonist of the film, isn’t an overly cringy misogynistic villain, sure he’s a jerk and is possessive of his ex-girlfriend, but he’s not an evil villain. He leaves Mia alone and bows to Li at the end of the film to show his respect to him, it’s honestly just such a breath of fresh air of six season of whatever the hell cobra Kai was. All that to say, I highly recommend the movie, the cast is great, the story is great (although I would’ve liked the movie to be longer), the fights are great, it’s a film that really honors the karate kid movies and doesn’t disrespect them.
When will I stop being surprised at the weird amount of support Silverusso (or at the very least, Terry and Daniel’s relationship) gets on reddit? Not helped by the massive boners folks on there have for Terry. (Can we blame them?)
Also: that commentary on Johnny is both hilarious, pathetic, and accurate. My apologies to Sensei Wolf.
i miss tkk johnny bc he would be the type to tell daniel his pants are passé and to take a long walk off a short plank
idgaf how much he hated sid you can’t tell me he didn’t enjoy being a pretentious evil fucker.
like he wears corduroy pants and button ups. he drives an AVANTI (the epitome of a douchebag luxury sports car). how many pairs of converse does he own? all his friends have matching custom leather jackets and motorcycles. laura probably made him take piano lessons. he had to keep high grades to stay on the school soccer team bc that’s just the rules in the states. he probably accidentally snorted too much coke at a party to seem more impressive and adult.
like that is a YUPPIE.
i miss him!!!
Oh my fucking word
Tell me the creators of this show fucking hate Mr. Miyagi and Daniel and everything their style of karate stands for w/o telling me they hate Mr. Miyagi and Daniel and everything their style of karate stands for
Also why in the name of fuck does Daniel, of all people, have to “look at himself in the mirror” when we have frickin everything about Johnny still?? Be so serious. Be so for real right now.
This show was written by high school bullies who completely missed the point of the original films
