Claiming Space
( Author’s Note: Published. But they are still my words. So I’ll promote it my way.)
I struggle
With identity
Some days
It’s like a creeper
Enjoying what
My doubt believes
Other times
It’s a lifestyle
That I fight through
But I still hold on
To what’s real
That’s all I can do
I was taught by
Misleading industries
Cult theory by design
But I was able
to break free
And frankly
That freedom
couldn’t come sooner
It was only a matter of time
Free your mind
And you’ll find the sun
Beaming down on greatness
No stampede can out-shake us
In my words
I wreck rules
Set the norm ablaze
I build towers so high
Monuments outgrew my name
I am this world to claim
Everything to offer
The result of being born
With a countless father
And a praying mother
Hoping my dreams
Profit growth
Higher than any plan
I’m the beacon of hope
Dividends will come
Until I sit back and listen
Like I already won
I stack words like my life
Depends on it
I hunt phrases
Tell stories different ways
For the message to ring
Like a diamond forged in
I’m not perfect
In fact I’m humanly flawed
But I learned to accept my wealth
True testimony of living word
Flawlessly charged
And the current moves steadily
Like a redefined pedigree
Coming up through a
Limitless digital age
I reset everything
With strong intent
I claim myself
In such a
Limited space
