⚓️Girl Anachronism⚓️ I got a lot of compliments for this selfie in my stories. I just started listening to Dresden Dolls and one specific song, Girl Anachronism, came on during a time when I was struggling with my self image and feeling pressured to keep up with social media trends. I don’t believe in sacrificing what makes me who I am to get a boost in popularity. While this has always been me since middle school, surprisingly enough, it’s been harder with having a presence on Instagram and fighting the algorithms. I’m always going to be weird. I’m always going to do things my way. Don’t mine me, just claiming space. I always have an amazing time at the LA Air Raid. I really love this event and I miss dancing a lot! I was able to wear my WAVES uniform that I made from scratch. I’m also bringing Filipinx visibility to this event; Filipinx veterans of WW2 never got their due. It’s important for me to represent people like my late Uncle Ed who fought for his country. Part of me wishes there was a clean version of the song and the entire album so I can play Us for my goddaughter. Maybe her mom will let her listen to it in 10-13 years.
