If you like to...

...cause problems, menace the public, and generally be an utter goblin, then what you need- what is ideal for you -is an Ice Ferret. And most specifically, you're going to want an Ice Ferret J.

It was Clan Ice Hellion that developed them, see, under the name Wolf Hunter, intended to counter Clan Wolf's flagship Timber Wolf. Clan Wolf actually came to admire the 'mech, and trialed for its design- changing it from the Wolf Hunter to the only natural predator of the ice hellion, the Ice Ferret.

Now, with the Locust you can get speed. With the Fire Moth you can get even more speed, though at the cost of a fragile frame. With the Ice Ferret, not only do you have speed to match the average Locust on foot, you're got more armor than the average Fire Moth and Locust put together. Agility, durability, maneuvering and speed, as much as any medium could ask for. And then, you've got the weaponry.

Ten ER small lasers and two heavy machine guns make the Ice Ferret J a menace on par with, at least in terms of damage inside skirmishing range, a worrying number of Assault-grade 'mechs. This is the type of 'mech that makes heavies concerned, mediums panicked, and lights disappear. Combine that with its blinding speed, and you have a backline marauder that jumps out, bites straight through armor into the chewy center of a BattleMech Pop, and can then vanish at speeds nobody can track, too fast to return a shot at.

From the Homeworlds to the far Periphery, there is one use for the Ice Ferret J, and that use is to get you, and it was only the destruction of their main production facility that lessens the chance of you being gotten, so count your blessings.
