I know this isn't on your masterlist, but I was hoping you might have seen the show, 'The Last Kingdom.' If you haven't, then I think you'd like it!

But if you have, may I request some headcanons on being Uhtred's s/o (but reader is a badass who hates being told what to do?) Thank you!

I cannot believe I got this message. I literally just started it and I'm halfway through season 2. (Please no spoilers!)

This show is FULL ON, it's weird having watched Vikings and then watching this. I'd like to know which show is more true to the real Vikings/Danes/Norsemen.

And hell yes! I will be adding The Last Kingdom to my masterlist and anyone can request anything...but just keep in mind I haven't finished the series yet...lol

I also do recommend this show to other people but you should be warned that it is very graffic, a lot of violence, sexual violence and assault too (I hate when those scenes come on, I have to close my eyes and block my ears.)

Also, to those that have watched it - where are all the shield maidens? The Vikings don't have their female warriors like they did in the other show? :'(

But there is a lot of female badassery. Queen Iseult will always be my favourite character. She's a real one. An absolute kickass sheela.

Sooo. I’m thinking of writing a full length fic for The Last Kingdom because I am so beyond in love with it! It would be a Finan x OC story because he’s such a fabulous human being but would of course include the whole gang. I used to write fanfic a fair bit and post on fanfic.net but the fandom is pretty small over there so I’d likely post it on ao3 instead. 

Here’s an idea of what would be in store if I actually wrote this instead of frantically planning and daydreaming about it...

I was numb with shock. They’d put me in a cage. These people kept a life-size cage ready to lock people in. I was left with only the haunting whispers in my mind as company. The ones I was desperately trying to ignore. The ones that were telling me I’d been captured by vikings, and the year was 882.

Adeline Brown is spirited away from her peacefully mundane life, thrown a millennium into the past and dumped outside the fortress of Dunholm. Thinking her to be a gift from the Gods, a talisman to ensure future success, Kjartan keeps her. Refusing to submit, she resists her captors in every way she can. Enter Uhtred of Bebbenburg, who aids the liberation of Dunholm and offers Addy her freedom. She grabs it with both hands and joins the usurped Ealderman on the long road to reclaim his homeland, taking a journey of her own along the way. 

I hope this is of interest to some people and I’m not just shouting this into the abyss! Let me know what you think :) Should I give this a go?
